Default Lighted Sills on a Roadster

For those with lighted sills, where did you make your power connection? The location from the directions makes it hard to access. Has anyone used wiring right behind the seat? This is a roadster. Any help will be appreciated!

I have different door sills than you do on my Roadster, but maybe this tutorial that I did for my installation will help you out.

I tried your wiring suggestion. The lights work but..........................they are on all the time; door open or closed. I was hoping for an actual wire behind the seats that actually worked off the door switches! Thanks for your suggestion though!

Cool Re: Lighted Sills on a Roadster

If I am not mistaken the wire harness under the seats are to be used for the Mopar Illuminated Door Sills, be aware that both sills will illuminate when either door is opened.

I appreciate your input. I was aware of the operation of the sills. Just trying to get the wiring issue correct. I did send Timelordz a PM with hopes that he could answer my question. I would love to be able to wire these lights from the seat area! Thanks again for your input!

The way that I have mine wired, they do not stay on all the time. They only come on when the door is open, and only on the side where the door is open. Are you sure that you got the right wire in the door switch?

Thanks for all the help! Problem solved......lights working. BMorgan....................I used your instructions. The first time I had failed to integrate into the door switch. The red/green wire from the radio is hot all the time. It was just a matter of figuring out which wire on the door switch. I did have to create a pigtail to the other door switch because my lights only came with one ground. Thanks for the excellent help. The tghread everyone was reerring me to dealt with the installation on a coupe i think. I was waiting for a response from TimeLordZ who created the door sill change color post! Now............what else can I mess with???
