Re-paint SRT, Cost in FL area
Hi everyone! Hope everyone is enjoying their XFs as much as I am.
Nevetheless, you have probably seen me asking about SRT6 cars in the FL areas, and I am still on the hunt for a good specimen. But when I find one, I am going to re-paint it. The qustion is wheter to do it in the US or here in Sweden. The same actually goes for tuning.
so questions are:
cost fpr re-painting the whole car?
are there tunes that I should be doing here in the US that I will not be able to do in Sweden? such as ECU tuning, bolt on stuff I can do over in Sweden but other stuff. We rarely have dynos for testing and so forth over here.. and if we have it it will cost me a fortune to do it...

If you want car paint specialists in FL "Cruise News" is a great place to start. Some of these guys put paint jobs on their cars that would cost the same as an SRT6, but there are some better prices too. I am assuming that you want a GOOD paint job - not some junky $400 job that is going to be covered in orange peel, over spray & drips.

I have emailed them now and hopefully I will get a good price. Will compare it with the swedish painters when i got the price.
Thanks yet again!

Which shop did you send an e-mail to? There are like 100 on that site....
Considering the exchange rate - I would think the USA would offer you a better value for the money. You have to take the risk that you'll be happy with the job (unless you plan on comming to FL)
I would say your looking at about $3,000 USD for a professional two stage paint job (base coat/clear coat). This would include sanding/painting the door/trunk/hood jambs, color sanded flat and buffed to a shinny finish.
But depending on the color, the engine bay will always be an "off" color so a perhaps a black or graphite SRT6 might workout the best...
