Re: Headlight clear vinyl covers ?
I have no experience with this stuff.
Crusing the web I found out about the 3M product from this link:
Paint Protection | Detailing Dynamics
I went and spoke to the owner at the shop and he swears by it (and the Lambo he was applying it to looked great).
I'm probably going to have my front end done over the summer.
You might wanna investigate the 3m product further...

it's too thin and isn't really user friendly.
I installed light tint on my headlights. from what i remember the rep said it was 20 mil. It works great as protection and gives the car a more aggressive look.
if you want clear, 3M has a product, specifically for lights.
as for what i have i believe these guys carry the same product

XPEL Head Light Protection
Lamin-x Protective Films - Protect with Style
Both websites have a link to find an installer. I watched mine being applied and was happy to pay the $60 (for everything) done in my garage.
Yes, they come to you!
2 years and they look great. And if they do the install-it's warrantied.

Re: Headlight clear vinyl covers ?
James, I've put on a 3M and also Venture Shield. Max recomended the Lamin-X-
for the home installer use the Lamin-X. It installs differently than the others, but it's a great product, I'm very pleased. They are the manufacturer, it's their only product. Follow their directions, don't over heat/warm the covers.
There was a lot of posts (on the VCA forum and others) about these films damaging the headlamps. I asked Lamin-X about my concerns, they were direct honest, shared what they knew about this issue, didn't act like they had never heard of it, they had and films have damaged the lamps. Honestly will get my business every time. The set we had from an (non-manufacture) Viper specialty store we returned, they claimed they were 3M, I checked they weren't and they bubbled after the warmth of the lamp.

Re: Headlight clear vinyl covers ?
I have a clear protective film on all my cars -- works great. Use a spray bottle with water and alcohol. Get one of those kits used to bondo spread and use it. Start spreading from the middle out. You might email Andrew and ask him to send you via email his instructions for putting on decals. His procedure will work for you.
