Thumbs up Front Marker light replacement (Headlight cluster)

I posted a HELP asking for ideas on replacing the "FRONT MARKER LIGHT" inside the headlight cluster.
Being the impatient person I am I found an easy way to replace the lights. Here is what I did, I'll add photos later.
I found that you cannot reach the socket by hand and I did not have long enough needle nose pliers. What I do have are lots of tools!!! as it turns out if you have a 10MM open end wrench that is at least 8" long you can reach under the metal bracket on front left and right side headlights with the open end wrench. It fits loosely over the socket, turn it 1/4 turn counter clockwise and it will pop right out. from there you can easily get to the light and replace it. Once you put the new bulb in the socket simply put it back in place and using the same wrench twist it clockwise 1/4 turn and your done.

This took me less that 5 minuets to replace both lights. Hope this helps someone else. These lights are a pain too get to.

Has anyone replaced these with colored bulbs? That would look sick and when you turn your head lights on they would pretty much drown out the color so the police wouldnt bother you.

I personlly wouldn't use anything but clear, yellow, or amber in the front of a car. No need to bring attention from the law.

Well what im thinking is the headlight would be so bright that when driving it would drown the color out and you couldnt see it anyway but when parked or just the driving lights are on you could. Blue would look HIDish

I have Ultraviolet (Purple) parking lights in my black coupe. When my 6000K 55W HID's are shining, you can't really see the purple unless you look up close.

Adds a nice effect at night though once your turn off your car/headlights and get out and close the door. (They stay on for a good 15 seconds).

They're 194 wedge bulbs, bought from superbrightleds.com (6 LED bulbs, I tried 9 and 12 but they won't fit in the housing).

I love the Megan muffler. It's LOUD and DEEP. My friends tell me all the time that it's one of the loudest exhausts they've ever heard, but in a good way.

Bit of a drone at low RPM though (70mph in 6th gear, 50 mph in 5th gear, etc.)

Let's just say.. it makes me burn a lot of gas because I always want to hear it!

I'm thinking about switching my parking lights to red though, because I want to have uniform colors all the way around... and the UV light inside the cab makes my teeth glow at night and I end up looking like a mutant. But if you're planning on doing the parking lights and map lights, I found that the 6 LED 35 degree beam angle work best for the parking lights, and the 9 LED 30 degree beam angle work the best for the map lights.

Im thinking red as well i just hope the leds will be intense enough to get a true red and not a shade of pink!!! What model is the exhaust? I looked at a few Megan's but they don't seem the same... I found your youtube video while searching and love the sound!! Has it gotten deeper after a few hundred miles?

I would say it has gotten a little deeper. After I put in my needswings DCAI my neighbor told me my car sounds even throatier than it did before!

I actually bought a set of 2 red, amber, and blue LEDs to try in the front parking lights, here are the pics.

The red looks better in person in my opinion. These pics were taken from my phone (gen 1. Droid), and since I have gotten rid of the lower grille lights.

The muffler is the M-RS model, and here is a link: Megan Racing Muffler It is not a direct bolt on. Cost me $80 for labor, the guy cut the old muffler off, had to bend a new piece of pipe, and it had to all be welded on. Worth it in my opinion.

The reason it's not a bolt on is because the M-RS muffler has a Y split inlet, while the factory muffler's inlet is offset! If you have anyone that can bend the pipe you shouldn't have any problem at all! Took the guy 30min to install mine (including time removing old parts) and it looked easy. He put two little metal rods inside the holes on the flat plate that holds the two parts of the muffler together and welded them to it, then hooked them into the factory muffler support things. Hope this explanation gives you kind of a mental image.. lol

Sure does having had all my exhaust off once before I know that region all to well about 9 hrs all to well... I ran over a dead deer that rolled out from under a semi on the interstate and some how crushed my mid pipe had to replace a good section of it. I know a custom exhaust fabricator so if i run into any hiccups ill get em resolved. Thanks for all your info this forum and its members are phenomenal and make owning this car a great experience!!

I went with white LED in the eyebrow light as seen here:
MorimotoHID010.jpg

It looks a bit blueish here but is a very true white in person.
