Default Exterior lights

I had a problem. When I turned the headlights on, the brake lights came on! headlights off, brake lights functioned normally.
Checked everything for 3 days and spent hours on the Forum.
Don't know who said it, but someone posted that if you change an exterior light, change its mate also.
Went out and put two new brake light bulbs and PROBLEM SOLVED. Everything is working normal again.
Thanks to whomever posted that earlier thread.

Only had my 05 for 6 months.... LOVE THIS CAR

Are they dim due to electrical trouble, or clouded lenses?

No not clouded lenses. I would like to purchase new headlights but I don’t know which ones to purchase. The ones that I have now seem like a yellow llghting. Definitely not driveable at nite, way too dangerous. I am French Canadian by the way not from the USA.
Would you have any suggestions?
Thanks

Many people here use the Sylvania Silverstar Ultras. I prefer the PIAA Xtreme White Plus avaliable at needswings.com
What you are looking for is an H7 bulb with a 4000k light spectrum (white)
My eyes are old and tired and had the same problem with the original bulbs. The 4000k will fix that.

The only thing you can replace is the bulbs if the housings are fine. Are you sure the headlights are pointing in the correct direction?
How long have you had the car?
I find the lights adequate as is but HID (high intensity discharge) lights are very white to bluish depending on what type you get.
I would check to see if the lights are aimed correctly before moving to HID lights.

Hi
I own a 2009 Crossfire. Even if the headlights are pointing in the correct direction, lighting is very low.
Is there a problem if HID lights are white to bluish?

Hi zip439 sorry don’t know your name.
Did you change the bulbs yourself? Was it complicated to do? Do we just change the bulbs or is more toi this?
thanks
Jo-Ann

Yes, I changed them myself. It can be difficult but you can do it. There is a tutorial on this website.

Be careful with the wire clip. It can come out and then be a pain to install. Also watch how the bulb comes out. The new one will go back in the same way.

There is a trick I read here on the forum, the high beam bulbs have the 'TAB' pointing up, and the low beam bulbs have the 'TAB' pointing down. Make sure the wire clip is seated correctly and all will be good!

.

The main thing is that the tabs must sit in their pocket properly or the light will be pointing in the wrong direction.'

So, high = up, low = down. Should be easy to remember.
