That's what I find odd though, because without resistors it should trip it right? There simply shouldn't be enough resistance on the lines to keep the lam out light out.

I'm going to guess yours is the "digital ballast".. that's what they state in the ebay adds.. and I'm going to guess there is a resistance built into them to compensate for the light out indicators. Seems there was a thread or two about adding resistors to the lines with some of the first - older kits.

i posted about this in the LED for head lights thread, i actually installed LED fog lights in my Crossfire , i used first gen ones with only one Cree LED chip an they work wonderfully , i cant imagine what a dual sided one would do , as is they are extremely bright, i would imagine the newer second gen ones would be blinding , this being said my bulbs are the kind designed for low beams , not just any run of the mill ebay bulb. i say go for it , and as a shameless plug , i happen to do LED lighting as a profession , so if you have questions i have answers

They make adaptors for 3157 bulbs to 9006? I finally found some solid leds for my Avalanche DRL's that might make decent fogs. They were about 25 bucks for the pair. But you would have to put in resistors for the light out indicator.

Does the Crossfire use the so called canbus system? I have noticed that some LED bulbs claim to be compatible with that system to eliminate flickering and keeping the light out on the dash. I am not well versed in automotive electrical systems so I have many more questions then answers.

Yes it does.. I chased the "no light out" LED bulb for a while.. then threw in the towel when my brake/tail lights ended up "non compatible". I liked those LEDs enough to let it go. Brake light portion works fine.. just the running lights weren't.

Great. I am thinking about this system. Prices are dropping.

crossfire does use the canbus system , but not on all bulbs, only vital ones, so fog lights no, at least not that ive seen, like i mentioned before i think in this thread , im workng on finding canbus solutions for almost every bulb in our car, the fogs im running are wonderful , no anbus issue, LED canbus head lights are hit or miss, they are still a bit underdeveloped,

mr.miata , dont look for an adapter, instead look for a similar bulb in a 9006 configuration, or send ,me a picture of the bulb , i may have already come across it

I beg to differ... my '05 trigers the 'Lights out' dash indicator when the fogs are out.

thats really quite interesting, my head lights or fogs never caused an issue, the only ones that did cause an issue were the eye brows and reverse lights,

I have a license plate light on the driver's side that gives me grief...the light comes on when it's installed. Don't understand that...

i feel like the car has a threshold its willing to deal with before it turns that light on , its quite funny to deal with , im in the process of redoing all my lights to something more robust since i did my lights over a year ago now, speaking of lights though m my car has two pull settings for the light ****, one turns on fogs but the second pull does nothing... nothing i can tell of?
