Hey folks --- I need some help. It seems both headlights on our '05 XF are aimed too low for safe night time driving. How do I adjust them? Is this possible? Any information would be greatly appreciated.

 

The white **** on the back of each unit should raise and lower them.
Be aware that you can overdo it and the adjustment screw will pop out of the socket.
Before using these adjustment ***** however, ensure all the H7 bulbs are properly seated
with the little extension on the bulb in the notch.
You can use a small mirror and a flashlight to check this.

Yes, with headlights installed. Easiest way to check the seating is to just grasp the bulb connector and try to twist it left / right.
It should not twist, but if it does, twist until you hear/feel the tab go into the slot.

on my left headlight my son tried to raise the headlight and of course it popped out of the socket. Now how can I fix this mess?

Hi janaiy, which direction did you turn the adjuster to get it to "pop" back in, clockwise or counter-clockwise?

I suspect the previous owner did some tweaking and I have a left drooping aim. If you look very closely you can see it as compared to the other side.

 

"Popped" it back in all is fine.

 

In my case the passenger side low beam was out of the socket.
The drivers side needed adjustment up, and in.
up was easy (turn the ****), in required wood working skill. The tab on the top outer corner is busted off from a wreck in the past, for the moment I cut small piece of 1"x1" maple and wedged it behind it.
