POsting a part number helps, but not if you are wanting to buy a used one off a disabled car - how the hell do we know what the part number is?
And if it is the front left one, you don't need a new one - it is fixable.
JUST NOW, I fixed mine - works like a champ! (I will start a thread in electronics so my fix is archived.)
I can only speak for what I know - the left one SEEMS ot have a tendency to fail: the contact from socket to housing (Not socket to bulb) burns down. By applying a light amount of solder to the contact on the socket (after a little burnishing/filing), you build the contact up about 1/32". Just enough so that it looks like the other one.
I have no idea if my fix will last long term, but I suspect it will. Only time will tell.
What I mean is, this is now the fourth time in the past two weeks someone has indicated that the left one has failed on them.

Mark, I was JOKING !
The 2 sockets are IDENTICAL !
( I have one laying here on my desk that has a burnt exterior contact, just have never gotten around to fixin it )
BTW, there are 2 versions of this socket, the later ones have much more 'meat' in the contact area.

I know you were joking, but fact is, I never really finished my first reply to him - so I was correcting that.
But are you SURE the front two are alike? I only looked at the right one quickly, but it appeared that it was 180degrees backwards so far as the tabs go.
I figured that some German engineer would do that....
Why ask him, his post was 29 months ago. I said in a later post I and many others had purchased them and they are fine.
They are an off the shelf part and not made for the Peugeot or Citroen etc alone.

Thanks. There is a lot of information here to find a specific post. Thanks again.

Not only did he get it to work he got it home again.
What do you understand if you read the words in RED.
well guys I don't care how old a thread is, i'm old, the car is old and the information is relevant.
bulb check light came on recently, checking revealed front left turn signal not working. i twisted the socket thingy some and the light flashed dimly. removed it and found what's shown in the pics. that'l do it..
so I'm trying PG's trick of soldering it. That was actually the first idea that crossed my mine. will flux it up good and try to solder it without melting anything important.
if these things were put together with dielectric grease this wouldn't be an issue. or maybe the grease dried up, who knows at this point..
