Yeah those cheaper ones use 5050smd diodes, which put out less light and more heat. Heat is not something you want to pile on with LEDs in general, so I would avoid that lol.
If you really wanna go the safe route, spring for a pair of the 1156 from OSRAM/SYLVANIA that was mentioned a couple posts above.

Hi Adrian,

What are you running right now for your brake lights? I have led lights pretty much all around but with the exertion with the brake light and turn signals.
I would like to get the same that you have.. Where can I get them And do I need to put in any resisters in line or not? Thanks..

You'll need resistors if you don't want the light out error. The brake LEDs are in the guide already.

Direct link to my units that I have been using for well over a year now: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Red-Canbus-2...xTrlyX&vxp=mtr

Awesome thanks.
If I dont care about the light out error on the dash then I don't need resistors?
I just installed hid lights on my fogs and dims.. They look great but after doing so I noticed that something happened to my high beams.. They don't turn on when I flick the high beams switch on.. But the highs work when I pull the switch towards me, the passing or flashing feature.. Would that mean that I fried the switch?

And could very well be a broken switch for the high beams.

Assuming that you have a canadian Crossie with DRL module, you would have to turn on the Headlight switch manually for your high beams to work

Right, if your headlight aren't turned on, the high beams won't turn on either only flash to pass works.

Oh trust me I tried everything, lol key turned on, car running... And still nothing in the high beam.. But the pass or flash feature turns the high beams on..

Is the switch or the labels different on the Canadian ones? I know he says he tried that, but the description fits perfectly.

I forget now but I think both switches look identical.

In the case of the Canadian switch, all lights come on automatically, including instrument cluster and low beams when the ignition is on. However, if you want to use high beams, you have to manually turn on the the switch.

In my NA Crossie, the low beams come on only once the Drive or Reverse gears are selected

The ICM (light switch) for US and Canadian cars looks identical, the plugs fit identically on the back, inside the module there is something different, I think I felt a relay click on the Canadian one when I was playing with it and the ignition key.
The part numbers are different naturally and is the only obvious difference on the outside.
I tried to take one apart to see if I could learn how to modify a US one to the Canadian standard, but I did not succeed, I think I saw Rudy take one apart at Woodward though.

US version - #193 545 00 04
Canadian version - #193 545 01 04.

I though you were gonna offer to drive them up to me from Chicago lol..
Or just give them to Jonathan Teows from the Blackhawks, he can bring them to me when he comes back home to Winnipeg lol jk...
If I can't get them shipped to Canada I can have them shipped to the Canada USA border and pick them up there.. It's only an hour away for me so.. When there is a will there is a way.. Lol

I shipped an SRT6 rim to a member to a border before, so yeah probably the only option if they don't deliver there.
