Default Preventing Rust

I’ve noticed that my hood has some small rock damage that I can tell is starting to rust. Is there a good way to handle it? I’ll get it repainted when I can afford it. I do have the dealer paint to cover up the spots once the rest has been removed (until I can get the whole car painted). Secondly, because I know very little about this paint type, can I just get the hood painted or will it not match the car?

Yes, you can just get the hood repainted. Seems like I got mine done for about $400 a few years back . They took some minor dings out as well and it is a perfect match to the original paint on the fenders.
