Default Lighted door sill question

Anyone know it there is a way to make the sills light up green to match the dash illumination?
I don't have a set. Are the bulbs blue or the plastic lens part?
Thanks.

I am willing to bet that the equipment used is a thin panel of electroluminescent material (or, if not, could be!). I suggest you could disassemble it, go to a web site like:

http://www.e-clec-tech.com/

An see if they have the right color and size. Very often these use are white panels with a simple filter to get the desired color.

I didn't buy a set yet because I don't want them blue, so I don't have a set to take apart.
I would hate to buy them if i can't change them to a green color.

Thanks for the link.

I'm still trying to figure this out too. I believe the sills actually use a blue EL strip, meaning you'd have to replace the strip with a blue one (and potentially muck with the power source).

Why on earth they didn't make these green I will never understand. Blue sills with all-green interior lighting would look completely stuck-on aftermarket and cheesy IMHO. Blah.

I wish somebody would come up with a way to do this, because I'd love the lighted sills, but only if they match.

You know...I wonder if you could just apply a yellow film over the blue EL strip. Since we all know (thanks Ziploc) that "yellow and blue make green" this might give an acceptable result.

Can someone please elaborate on the installation of this lighting on the door sill? I'm taking delivery of my new SRT-6 in the next 1-2 weeks and would like this to be the first install. Thanks!

I have the illuminated door sills on my XF. They're easy to install and look great. Make sure you wire them to the dome light so they illuminate when you open your door. Don't forget to switch off the dome light if you plan to keep your doors open for and extended period.
