Default Dash issue - partial lighting only

Has anyone seen something like this before?

Dash at day - max brightness
Dash at day - max brightness

Dash at night - max brightness
Dash at night - max brightness

The display is not lighting up in the centre left, all the speeds from 0-70 and the entire fuel gauge, including the needle.

I checked and It’s not the light dial, it stays like this from min to max, it’s just more obvious with it all lit up. Fuses are all good.

If anyone ran into this issue please let me know what it was and how you fixed it. I found nothing and the only thing left is to open up the dash to dig for the circuit board which I would really not want to do unless absolutely necessary 😂

My guess would be a bulb out.

Here's a video on how to change the bulbs. The plastic is old and brittle so take your time and try to use plastic trim tools instead of metal.

Thanks guys, will do that in the next few days. Those videos are a blessing to see, instantly makes a job 50% easier.

Might prebuy the bulbs now so I can do it in one day, delivery times are a joke in the UK unless they’re on Amazon and I still need to use the car.

The Left turn signal is also out now so hopefully new bulbs will fix it.

Good video that brought back memories of when I removed the instrument cluster years ago.

One tip: Be careful when playing around with bulbs after cluster removal. There are some empty, unused sockets, so it's easy to put a bulb in one of them. AMHIK. My suggestion is that you mark all unused sockets with masking tape before doing any bulb swaps.

If the left signal (indicator on the speedo, front signal and rear signal) - if ALL do not light up at all, the issue is the multifunction switch.

As our cars age, this has become more and more common.

Update.

So it was actually one of the brake bulbs in the back causing this. Someone noticed the double filament was not lighting up when the brake pedal was pressed and we opened the trunk and one on the bulbs was not put in right. Once we adjusted it the dash lighting went back to normal, the brake lights work and the bulb out warning is gone.

This car never stops surprising me 😂😂

The other warning light on your dash is the brakes pads. You best inspect the brakes and plan on replacement of the pads.
