New Chrysler Corporate Website
With the sale of Chrysler to Cerberus complete, there are many changes forth coming and in an effort to keep everyone informed of these changes, Chrysler LLC has launched a new corporate site.
The new site features a “Manifesto”, which outlines the long-term goals for future success, along with information regarding the relationship between Cerberus and Chrysler.
Also, in keeping current with the ever changing environment of the Domestic Auto Market, the site also offers a sneak peak into future products such as the 2008 Challenger, Hemi Hybrid, Flex Fuel Vehicles, as well as it’s industry’s first Lifetime Powertrain Warranty.
To view the new site, click here.
These are very exciting times for Chrysler and this is the best place to stay on top of the latest happenings as they develop. In the meantime, I’d be happy to answer any questions I can.
Thanks and let me know if I can be of any assistance.

Chrysler will be sold again within 5 years at the most. Probably to a Chinese company. This is Cerberus we're talking about... a private equity fund that buys distressed companies and turns them around just enough to sell it for hopefully (for them) a large profit. Now that Nardelli has been appointed as CEO, there is no doubt this is what's happening.

but at the rate of foreign investment,
in 5 years it's likely to be a Chinese company owned by Americans.
Nardelli - probably not good for Chrysler car owners...
Will:
I wanted to ask about a problem I am having with the "apparent"' "OLD CHRYSLER".
This is the company that I have my original 3/36k factory warranty with on my 2005 Chrysler Crossfire LTD with under 25k miles on it.
For three weeks on and off the vehicle has been in and out of the dealer for an interior light and stereo problem, which I was told was a module problem.
The module was replaces and reprogrammed from what I was told (under warranty) and then the spoiler stopped working (while having the work done at the dealership).
Apparently from my understanding, the 2005 module was upgraded for 2006 and won't work on my vehicle, but Chrysler Corporate authorized this as the fix. As a result, now the spoiler is not functioning and remains in the down position.
After my husband and I (as well as the dealer) had multiple conversations with Chrysler Corporate - you know, the really polite and helpful "Customer Care" center, We were told the first time that "You could out of pocket purchase an aftermarket part, or go to a salvage yard and get a used part, bring it to the dealer, they can install, or you can get them to out of pocket get the part, etc." When I asked about the possibility of voiding my remaining warranty, I was told that if this was done, and anything related went wrong with the car, Chrysler would not honor the warranty and it would be void.
I was also told by a supervisor "Josh" at Chrysler that the part is no longer manufactured by Mopar and the basic end of the road instructions from any "Customer Care" person including "Josh" who I was told was the highest person that I could talk to (is he a silent owner of Daimler Chrysler that we have not heard of?) and that this was all that they would do for me.
To clarify, I have an original factory warranty on my vehicle that before Chrysler knew what the problem was, they were honoring - now that they know what the problem is, they will not honor.
Additionally, it is my understanding now without a functioning spoiler, I am at risk (as is any passenger I might have) at speeds above 63 mph.
Quoted from the owner's manual:
Page 82:
A rear spoiler enhances vehicle stability. The rear spoiler deploys automatically when the vehicle speed reaches approximately 62 mph (100 km/h).
Page 83:
The spoiler will deploy as a safety precaution if the ESP system detects a large difference in wheel speed between the front and rear wheels. This could occur as a result of a speed signal malfunction, or could occur if the vehicle is attempting to accelerate on a low friction surface causing the wheels to spin. The spoiler will remain deployed and the warning light in the spoiler switch will blink until the vehicle is restarted. If the spoiler continues to deploy in this fashion below the normal deployment peed, see your authorized dealer.
Page 84:
Should a malfunction occur that prevents the spoiler from deploying automatically, a red warning light will illuminate in the override switch and an audible warning will sound.
WARNING!
Do not drive the vehicle at speeds above 62 mph (100 km/h) if the red spoiler warning indicator is illuminated. You could have reduced vehicle stability and control.
If I read further, the spoiler function directly affects the vehicle stability, Brake Assist System and the Electronic Stability Program.
Because I am told that the part I need is no longer manufactured by Chrysler (on a 2 year old vehicle that is STILL under the original Chrysler factory warranty), I no longer can drive safely at highway speed (on several I drive to work on where the speed limit is 65 and 70 mph) and Chrysler had flatly refused to honor their warranty.
With this being said, if the vehicle is taken to a speed above 62 and loses control, with Chrysler corporate knowing that this problem exists with my vehicle, and refusing to fix and honor my warranty (and continue to honor for the remainder of the factory warranty), my husband and I ill have no other choice but to hold Chrysler liable if anything happens.
So, now I have a vehicle with a warranty the company will not back, that can only be driven under 63 mph (and it is a sports car), that I am still making payments on and additionally with the malfunction of the spoiler, it is directly affecting major safety stability features this vehicle has.
Look, I am asking simply that Chrysler honors the warranty and fixes the car. Nothing more, nothing less. If I did not have a warranty, I could see why Chrysler would refuse to fix - I want them to fix this vehicle, PERIOD.
If I wanted a vehicle that I could not replace parts with, I would have bought a Yugo or an Edsel - this is a 2005 Chrysler Crossfire LTD - Chrysler needs to stand behind their products and warranties and FIX THE VEHICLE.
I politely request a quick response to this post. I do not want to take this matter further with anyone else but Chrysler, but if I am continued to put in a strong-hold, where your "Customer Care' representatives treat me like a dog, I will have no other choice but to explore what options might be out there with lemon laws and or the gross negligence of your corporation.
I would encourage any Crossfire Forum members to PM me if you have any additional suggestions. My name is Michelle on the member list.
Will, I look forward to your response regarding this matter.

Hey Michelle, have you received any kind of a reply to this yet? I wouldn't swear that this is true, but I thought I heard somewhere that auto mfg's, by law, had to make sure repair parts where available for their vehicles for a certain number of years after that vehicle model year (7 years is sticking in my mind) was produced. Like I said I don't know this to be true, just something I heard. Does anyone have any insight on this? Michelle please keep this updated, I'm curious.
No reply from our friends at the "NEW" Chrysler - what a crock! However, I have a bunch of buddies on the forum giving me information and ammo to try to get the dealer to understand that maybe the module is not the problem. If I hear from anyone - Will - I will let you all know! Thanks for asking!
Note the following story from today's Motor Authority:
Warranty Claims Cost DCX $6.1 Billion Last Year
Tuesday 14 August 2007
One of the key challenges of turning around the misfortunes at Chrysler will be to improve the levels of warranty claims, which last year cost it and German parent Daimler a staggering $6.1 billion. Though the data didn’t separate which carmaker within the group had the highest claims, Chrysler’s vehicles have consistently ranked below industry averages for quality. Even Mercedes-Benz has stumbled in recent years with major quality issues in its usually bullet-proof passenger vehicles.
The results were a shocking 36.8% higher than the second worst ranked company, GM, whose claims totaled $4.46 billion last year. Close behind was Ford on $4.10 billion and Toyota with $2.37 billion, according to Automotive News.
Considering that Chrysler has just offered a lifetime warranty for its powertrains, the issue of escalating claims costs is an even bigger factor in seeing Chrysler return to profitability. Things are looking up. According to Chrysler’s executive vice president Frank Klegon, warranty costs have fallen 40% over the past five years and that most of the $6.1 billion total is actually due to the expensive repairs for Mercedes branded models.
No wonder they don't want to honor valid warranty claims. Let's see what the "New Chrysler Corporate Website" has to say about this report...

Michelle,
I am real sorry to hear about the trouble you've been through. I can't resolve this issue personally, it's just not my department, however, I am seeing that this gets forwarded to the right people who will hopefully be able to offer you more assistance than you've already received (or haven't received in your case).
I can only imagine how upset you are and I am sure that what I am saying now probably means nothing to you until you see that spoiler adjusting at 63 mph and your lights/stereo back to normal, but please understand that I am doing the best I can on my end to get this to someone who can help you.
When I find out any further information I will be sure to contact you.
Thanks,
Will

Pretty cool response...it will be interesting to see if he follows through...could the "new" Pentastar be turning a corner.
Michelle, keep us posted, please.

The cool thing is the headquarters in Auburn Hills has a giant pentastar facing I-75 at the top of the tower. (It's a conference room) After it gets dark at night you can see a giant beam of light coming out of the windows shaped like the pentastar! (kind of like the batman light)!
