I didnt mean to specifically get racial. I have buddies of all races and id fight for their rights any day of the week. That was just a prime example of how people like Jessie Jackson(who i do believe to be racist) convinces the poor uneducated black man that beacuse they are victims of the big bad white man they are owed something from society THEIR ENTIRE LIVES. He tries to convince them surely they arent capable of thinking for them selves, working to earn an honest living, becuase they have no chance at sucess since they were slaves 150 yrs ago. As a matter of fact...we owe the reparations! HA!

Point is liberals target the minorities of every group, then try and use them to create a majority vote and it works....sheer ignorance.

How about this, im a rather short man(5'6"). I have been made fun of my entire life for it. Girls typically prefer taller guys statistically. I have a hard time seeing the game at sports bars, not to mention the fact that every time i go to the bar for a drink everyone else is taller and gets served first. Im serious. I have to usually get my friends to order for me. My point is i DAMN WELL know what it feels like to be DISCRIMINATED AGAINST FOR SOMETHING I CANT HELP. Based on the liberal philosophy you all owe me something. So from this point forwards i want YOUR TAXES TO BE INCREASED for my sake. Well call it the Men of Short Stature Program(MSSP). We will have our own line at the bar, reduced cost drinks, and other special privileges that will be incurred by YOUR TAX DOLLARS since ive been suppressed all my life.

240M3SRT is correct about the original population of the Americas. They had been fighting with each other for maybe thousands of years and would happily exterminate their enemies if given the chance. Whenever a static, more primitive civilization comes in contact with a more dynamic, forceful, and - most importantly - technically superior civilization then it is going to be in trouble. If Europe had discovered the New World 200 years earlier than historically the original inhabitants would very possibly have been exterminated during the settlement process (look at South American for an example). And please stop calling the original inhabitants "Native Americans". Anybody born in America is a "Native American" and I refuse to give up my birthright title just because my ancestors weren't here an extra 10,000 years or two.

The African slave trade was not something Europe came up with on a lazy weekend 300 years ago. It had been going on for centuries and was principally orchrestrated by Arabs. Europe/America did become a major, if not the major, market but it was also Europe/America that ended it too. By the way, the Arabs weren't particular about skin color and were just as happy to enslave a white European as a black African.

The atomic bombings were responsible for maybe 200,000 civilian deaths (killed outright or died later from radiation poisoning). This figure is peanuts compared to the number of civilians the Japanese killed during WWII. Ironically the bombings actually saved civilian lives by ending the war before Japan was invaded. The Japanese military had plans for using the civilian population as canon fodder and there was even consideration given to killing all of the old and very young since these age groups were the most military impotent of the population and yet needed the most resources.

If this guy thinks that the UN is controlled by America then he has some really serious reality issues to deal with. He hates America so much. but what a cop out for not leaving.

France, England, Spain, Portugal, Rome, etc... But the USA still does not own/colonize any soil outside our borders (thru war). Of all the wars the USA has fought, we only asked for enough land to bury our dead.

Look at what Syria does in Lebanon – talk about assignation central, or what Russia does in Chechnya. I’ll take America every time.

But look on the bright side for a change Max -

The USA is one of the first countries to recognize women as equal to men, the first to free/abolish slavery and then offer them equal access to voting and our political process. (Won't find many black politicians in England or France or all of Europe) and we might even have a black President.

Excess Capitalism leads to big problems, but so does excess socialism and communism etc... It’s just that runaway capitalism fixes itself with economic meltdown - just look at the great depression – talk about fixing the income gap. Better that then how Cuba, Russia, Iran, Nigeria or Saudi Arabia fixes their problems.

We can still vote in change and a new hope for this nation. You just have to break free of all the commercialism. I took the first step and killed my TV (well I killed the cable and network feeds) I still watch Netflix movies but not network TV. No broadcast news, no sitcoms, no commercials.

It's put a whole new spin on the coming election, having to research for answers rather then having someone spoon feed then to me in 30sec ads.

I still don't get the whole liberal and conservative name-calling thing. What the words actually mean and what people pretend they mean are often confused. A conservative does not want change and a liberal does... so why do conservatives go to war? Why do liberals want to uphold the status quo? I, myself, am an extreme reactionary. I feel we should go back to the way it was when our country was founded. But that was lost in translation somewhere by liberals and conservatives and now instead of dealing with the rights of men and businesses... We have people arguing over God and war. What about education? What about nation defense INSTEAD OF nationa offense?

We should really love America and change it for the better. Some guys with names like Washington, Jefferson, Madison, Franklin and their buddies didn't start a country of free men, free speech, and free religion so some red necks could shove Christianity down someones throat or some yuppies could falsely believe in some made up ideas about conservation. Everyone just really needs to start reading books and THEN form some opinions.

It sounds like you have your thinking cap on pretty straight, but i have a few comments...

I dont think its an accurate description to say a conservative does not want change and a liberal does. More accurately a liberal wants more govt, more social programs, more spending(except on military), more rights for minorities(and i dont mean just racial). Conservatives generally want less taxes(but a higher % to fund military), less govt subsidised programs, etc.

Ever heard the saying apply liberally, or apply conservatively. Liberal means more and conservative means less. More govt, vs less govt.

You say you want to go back to the way the counrty was founded. Well it was founded under Christianity, and by the revolutionary war against the British. Some times we need a certain level of offense to ensure a good defense. We gotta have our noses in other peoples business so you dont look out the window one day and see Chinese tanks and soldiers doing door to door sweeps, or terrorist strikes on our soil daily. Its not an accident we havent been hit again since 9/11. Its because we have men and women EXACTLY where they need to be doing EXACTLY what they need to be doing.

Im not sure why you relate rednecks to Christianity, but without a basic common religion or at least CHRISTIAN LIKE MORALS i believe our morals will suffer and we will become DILUTED and perverted. Historians often compare USA to Romes once vast empire, which fell from within. Once we are no longer comprised of individuals working towards the same purpose with the same goals in mind we will fall too. It might be 50yrs, it mght be 200, but it will come.

As a whole we as a nation have become too comfortable and take our freedom and securites for granted. Maybe a war on our own soil threatening the very foundation we exist upon is exactly what we need to make people see that sometime a good defense consist of a good offense. But if it boils down to that then that means we failed to take care of our ****, and its probably too late.

 

I was just generalizing about the Bible-beaters. I do belive our country was partly founded by Christian or Christian-like morals but a surprising number of our founding fathers were not Christian, at least not in the modern sense. In fact a lot of them didn't believe in the divinity of Christ or what have you. Of course I've been lucky enough to have known people of a lot of races and religions and find out that good people come in all kinds as do bad people. I really just advocate smaller government with a few major important government institutions and... of course... EDUCATION. An educated society is usually a just and prosperous one.

And I am one of those rare people who votes based on candidates, not party.

 

Spent too much money on bombs and not enough in schools. I say close all the borders, bring all troops home, line them in the ports, airports, and borders. Announce to the world that the terrorists haven't won, but we will no longer pursue them. If anyone should attack us, then use nuclear means to eliminate them. people won't believe us, so it will take a few "examples" after awhile, people will get the idea.

Example: state by state, who has the least amount of violent crime? Texas. Almost everyone is armed so you don't know which house to rob, rape, etc. A lot easier to commit crime in a "safe" neighborhood.

Our military members for the most part (Can't please everyone) would much rather be on duty here as opposed to some other 3rd world $h1th0le where they can't see their families.

I believe in everyone knows right and wrong and everyone has a right to life. What you do with that life either revokes or keeps that right valid.

Just my thought.... I could be wrong...
