Default Horrible Service from Phantom Grip

It seems that I cannot win when it comes to getting my LSD for the 6. I pulled the rearend out of the car and shipped out Feb. 16th via Fedex ground (5 day). It finally arrived at Phantom Grip on Feb. 25th 10 days after shipped out). I emailed PG on the 16th notifying them that it's on its way and gave them my info along with the tracking number and wrote on letter in box asking them to call me when it arrives and to let me know when it will be done. After no reply by the 20th I send another email asking how long it might take once received...no reply. I call PG on the 26th to make sure they had the rearend and was informed that it would take 2 days for the labor and would ship (and I would be called) on that second day. I call PG on the 25th; after shop hours, and leave a message asking for a call back with the status of the rearend...no response. Today; a full week after talking to somebody, I called around 1pm my time (4pm in Florida) and talk to another guy and after giving him my info he says "the techs are out to lunch let me call you back in an hour". I let 2 1/2 hours go by with no call back and decide to call again and... SUPRISE... I get the answering machine. We'll see if I actually get a call back tomorrow. Rite now I'm hoping like hell that this LSD conversion is the best thing since sliced bread because SOMETHING needs to make up for Phantom Grips horrible service.

To be continued...

Appreciate the heads up, looking forward to the resolution. Did PG insist on doing the installation or did you not have a trustable rear end shop locally to do the install?

They said that I had to send it in to them. I work on Mercedes' every damn day and asked to do it myself.

Also; I called AGAIN today since they didn't respond to my message yesterday and all I got was their wonderful answering machine again with NO return call!!! I guess I'll just have to send them another email that won't get a response.

That is some horrible service. I too would be highly frustrated.

I called PG again today(Thursday 6th) and got the answering maching again..............and no return call from any of the prior messages left on the answering maching. Then when I got home tonight I was delightfully suprised to have an actual RESPONSE via email. Here's what it stated................

"Please forgive us for the delay in getting back to you in a more timely matter. There were some technical emergencies needed to be taken care of. We will try our best to get the rear out this week and back to you. Hopefully tommorrow, we can update you furthur with more info."

I sure hope it actually gets shipped this week so I MIGHT be able to race on the 14th.

Sounds like a lot of BS to me. Unless there was a medical emergency, they have entirely the wrong attitude about this. Let's hope they aren't misplacing your expensive parts. They sent an email so they wouldn't have to talk to you in person, nice. Hoping for the best for you

It sounds like a missed oppurtunity by Phantom Grip to get some "free" advertizing by Moparrbust. You would think they would be falling all over themselves to get the job done right, quickly, shipped back as soon as possible, and keep you updated as much as possible. At the very least, take your phone calls.
I really just don't know what ever happened to the American work ethic.
I'm afraid to take my car anywhere to have anything done to it. It use to be you would worry that the job was just done right, now you have to worry that they don't damage something else while making a repair.
Mopar, I hope the end result is worth all the head aches. Good Luck!

Sounds like incompetence in the office. I hope it is not any sort of indication of the product's quality. Email them this link. Let them see how the world sees them.

Update; I finally got a call from PG this afternoon and they said my rearend was "misplaced" and they finally found it...............the business next to them signed for the package and never gave it to them(that's the story anyways). I was "promised" that it will ship out this upcoming Monday and it will be shipped 3day Fedex..............so I MIGHT be able to get it back in the car for next Fridays Test n Tune. The only issue I see right now is getting it aligned in time as I will work all night installing it if need be.

I get my numbers from Las Vegas Motor Speedway. I was pulling 2.0 60's with stock Continental Conti Sports and the next time I run I will be using my new PG LSD and 275/40 17 Hoosier drag radials. I'm hoping for some 1.7 60's now and 1.6 60's when I add all my performance goodies.

What mods do you have installed? I think you once you get pulley'd ,intake'd, and drag radials and making mad power like everyone else, half shafts will be the next issue. The SRT Charger guys with big power are snapping them all the time. It's pretty common for them. They asked if we had those problems, and I told them no one was making that kind of power yet. That was back in December when only a needswings intake was the big mod. With these new large pulleys and other mods, I'm wondering if MD SRT6 will be the first to snap an shaft.

The true question would be "what mods won't I have installed?".

I am a "SRT Charger guy" and am well aware of the axle issue. I purchased a spare set of OEM SRT-8 axles as a back up set when/if I break mine............but my Charger only has 450-460RWHP(during the winter). I'm not really worried about breaking the axles on the 6 either as I have "contacts" at the local stealership.

Out of curiosity could you find out what they cost? What's the best time you've had in the charger?

LOL. The best I could manage with the Charger was a 12.8 @ 109 with a 2.0 60' spinning my drag radials at 2100ft above sea level. I gave up on it(track wise) once I found out it would cost me $5,000(axles,LSD,torque converter) to get it to hook up and launch without issues at the track. It's currently the fastest in town that is track proven..........but with it weighing in at 4300lbs(without driver) it is too costly to make it as fast as the 6.

BTW..............I just got a call from PG today and they said they were gonna be shipping out my rearend TODAY!!!! I should be seeing it by Monday-Tuesday next week.

I got mine ( lsd ) after calling them and believe that it was thier first
crossfire unit. I called before I sent it, bothered them and got it back in about 8 days around the December timeframe. Installed it and have never looked back. It must be that they are a small shop and the leader is missing for a while.
Soory you had an issue. See my photos, ps it looks like the Kleeman unit in every way.

Also a shot of my older toy I just let go to a high school (1964) buddy this month.
