Scotty did not get beamed up
Seems actor James Doohan's (AKA "Scotty" on the original Star Trek) ashes were supposed to be rocketed into space yesterday along with a couple hundred others - plus 3 small satellites - but the rocket went Ka-BOOM over the Pacific Ocean instead.

On a lighter note, the guy who's heading this private space group is the same guy behind the Tesla Roadster. So far none of those have exploded over the Pacific Ocean.
