unless Wisconson has some funky laws...I can't believe its just a fine and that's it...talk to someone about points if they have that system, or suspensions, which can happen in IN...nor did you show a section that stated "radar"....so, it's her word against yours...it's your money...

That all depends...I was not there, so I can't give you an honest opinion. Attitude means ALOT. If your a smart ***, your gettin' "pencil whipped" so to speak.
I've posted a long time ago about giving a verbal warning to a girl in a Crossfire who was going 110ish.
Every dept. has different policies on this sort of thing and officer discretion also plays a big part. Also, so does the offenders record. All though I would love to say what I would have done, You can see why I refrain from such comments.

Thanks for saying I'm one of the finest though!! Much appreciated.

Not a problem, You guys have one heck of a tough job. We all know there are a few guys that jack off to roadhouse and take their authority a little too far but for the most part, you're all out there just trying to keep us safe and tickets are the friendly little reminders.

UPDATE FOR ALL THOSE WAITING I ACCEPTED A PLEA OF GUILTY. The DA would hardly talk to me and said given my record he would have no problem sticking me with extra crap if I went to court. I know they all try scare tactics but whatever I figured it is best to move on and get this out of the way before summer rolls around. I tell you what paying $465 for one little joy ride on a straight away WAS NOT WORTH IT AT ALL and I am one of the lucky ones. By that I mean no intent to harm, no reckless driving, and no arrest. It only gets worse driving at those speeds, and you may think hey I am out in the middle of no where why would there be a cop on this road, but really that is the perfect road for an officer why wouldn't they be there. So 15 day suspension in WIS so far I still have my MN license they have not done anything lets keep our fingers crossed

Letter to Pierce County Circuit Court and District Attorney Office regarding case number 08TR1362 Based upon my discussion with the assistance district attorney, I will change my plea to a plea of guilty. In exchange I understand that the District attorney will reduce the forfeiture to; four hundred and thirty eight dollars. I understand that 6 demerit points will be assessed and that my Wisconsin driving privileges will be suspended for a period of time. I also understand I have 60 days to pay this from the day this plea has been entered.
Thanks again

Wow, somehow I missed this thread. JonnyA, when all is said and done, consider yourself lucky. I know many of us have done this at one time or another, but I think we know that if we get caught there's not much hope we can get off.

I'm glad at the end it's only going be a fine.

I Have a radar detector and have still got tickets Around here they keep radar on stand by ,when detector goes off, and you are speeding and they are locked on to you its to late. They know how and where to set up , so when your detector goes off ,(most ) of the time its to late. IT might save you if he is locked in on the guy next to you. But if you are at a very high rate of speed forget it they are trained to know your speed without a detector . I now use my detector to notice my speed when it goes off, for me i do seem to speed less because when it now goes off and i am not speeding, thats a ticket i did not get. A radar detector can give us a false since of secuity and you are going to get a ticket you can count on it . Good luck to all.
