Thought it would be self-explanatory. It just says "test."

Apparently, I'm the only one who thinks it's humorous that Microsoft's publicly available EULA for XP Professional says nothing more than "test." I don't think they meant for this to be on their public site. Someone at MS goofed...

I didn't realize it would be so difficult to get that.

You must realize that I've been living in the south for 6 years now. There are many things I don't catch on to very quickly!

I don't think they care about XP now that they're getting ready to launch the new Windows 7 soon.

Don't care about XP??? It has outsold any other OS on the planet and Microsoft is STILL licensing this to OEM System builders till the end of 2009, so with it still being a cash COW, I am sure they care.

What is the only OS out there to outsell Windows Vista every single year - you guessed it, Windows XP.

Nice find.

Vista didn't sell because of all the bugs it had. Windows 7 is the fix for all the problems Vista has. I have a test build of 7 on my laptop and it's better than Vista ever will be and it's not even the final RTM yet.

Hey, I resemble that remark. It's ok. I often assume everyone can see me laughing when I post stuff I think is funny.

By the way, Microsoft has since fixed it (which is why I posted a screen shot, just in case they caught on).

Windows 7 is the savior, huh?? How is it they took over 5 years programming Vista and about 18 months on 7, could it be the base code is nearly identicle?? And the only reason SOME bugs will be worked out is because software and hardware manufacturers have finally caught up with Vista and they are rebranding it as 7, using many of the same drivers among other things....

Just my $0.02 from the IT industry and Microsoft conferences....

And XP will continue to be the OS of choice until Microsoft can convince corporate customers that there really is a good reason to upgrade.
As of today, there isn't!
Massive retraining of the user base, massive hardware upgrades; all are scary things for corporate IT Depts.
I know we won't be making any switches until there's a firm reason to do so.

I didn't expect to spark a major debate over this.
