If you intend to live by the FSS, stick with the Mobil1 0W40. Beyond that, a GOOD 5W40 synthetic will offer all the protection you could ever ask for. It's up to you.

I think you'd be fine with another synthetic 5W40, but not so sure about 5W30.
But really, my local Oreilly's told me they can order Mobil 1 0W40 for the same price as the other weights of synthetic Mobil 1's. Why not just order what the car calls for and not worry about it?
(After the warranty, th'ats what I'll do - but for the next few years, my dealer will be changing my oil.)

I just switched to Castrol 5-40 this April. I don't rely on the FSS to let me know when to do next change, I only drive about 2000 miles a yr. & change oil in spring. But I was impressed with the quiet valve sound on cold start that I wasn't getting with Mobil 0-40.
