Please use a little courtesy while parking!
If I am forced to park next to someone I always make sure to leave enough room for the driver of the vehicle next to me to easily enter their vehicle.
I got out of class today, walked to the back of the parking garage on the north side of OSU's campus and found THIS.
People absoluely rock.
If I wasn't a strappin' young 160lb 21 year old buck I don't think I could have maneuvered into my car. It was a bit difficult for me at 6ft tall to enter through the passenger door and contort myself over the center console and under the steering wheel without breaking anything.

Oh, and tell a story!
The army post I work on was hosting a bike race and they sent a crew out to clean up the roads. I work in a remote area of the post and there's plenty of cleaning up required on the roads out here.
Anyway we see the street sweeper, the guys with brooms, shovels cleaning up. Then one of my coworkers tells me to look outside to see what they are doing to my car.
Some idiot with a leaf blower is blowing the (fine) dust/dirt directly AT my car! He was literally inches away at times. Not blowing the dirt/dust away from the car but AT it!!! WTF! Now I'm a VERY easy going person but I just had to go out and talk to this bozo. Went up asked him who was in charge, he said he was! I then basically asked him WTF he was doing. He told me about the bike race not even thinking that I was asking what he was doing to my car!!!
I had him call his boss. His boss came out and I had him call his boss! The big boss came out and they all suggested that they just use the leaf blower to blow the dust off of the car!???
They asked me what I wanted them to do and I said that I wanted the car detailed. Gave them my information and about a week later I got the check for $100.
I can only imagine that the guy would of done the exact same thing if I had my roadster there with the top down.
Ok I feel a bit better now!

this stuff happens all the time in my parking garage at work, and really all over the place too. These morons will pull their SUV's and full size PU's in at odd angles, and give themselves plenty of room to get out on their side but not think about the car to their right. I really don't think they do it so much on purpose, but they are certainly oblivious, uncaring and unthinking about anybody but themselves. Which describes pretty well how things are going as a society today.

Well, it IS OSU.
Sorry, couldn't help that one.
I suspect the driver was just being a smarta** with no regards for his government motors car.

Exactly... it is OSU, that's why this is so unexpected! Looks like this doucebag is from Kansas (I would have guessed Texas, haha.) And to park that close to car with a paper tag, that's pathetic!
If this happens again, give me a call. I'll park super close on the other side of this jerk and see how he likes it. I'm sure he'll get the idea when we videotape him trying to get into his car and post it on youtube.
Glad to know I'm not the only Xfire on campus. =)

That's exactly what we did one time at my old workplace. This ****** with at that time a new nissan 320 ZX used to park in the front row, at an angle taking up at least two places to make sure HIS baby, that of course was so much better than anybody else's, wouldn't get dinged rather than park in the south 40. So after everybody was complaining, and leaving notes on his windshield with no change in behavior, I came into work one morning, and he was already there, he wrked in another office-have no idea who he was, and decided that apparently the straight parking had all been turned into angle parking overnight-apparently new rule! I parked my passenger door about an inch from his so he couldn't get enough push to bang me, the next car obviously saw what was going on and did the same on the other side, but backed into the spot. And there we all sat until business close, watching out the window of couse. he came out about 3, stood there with his briefcase and stared for about a minute, then went absolutely ballistic. everybody came over to watch and laugh. there was nothing he could do but wait for another hour and a half until the first car moved-then he had to crawl over the passenger seat of the Z and that was even more fun to watch. he parked in another lot after that.

Part of this is just plain stupidity, with a large dose of I don't care thrown in. FEW treat their cars like we treat ours. But, it also looks like the morons who decided they could get extra parking places if they narrowed them to accomodate something the widthe of a Fiat 500.
There are a number of places down here that do that very thing. I have learned to hike out to the farthest ends of the lot to 1) keep from getting dings and 2) just bea able to get into the car.
I had been "locked" out of my car a number of times, then two things happened, 1) due to age my knees would no longer contort to enter the car in tight spaces (acqired a handicapped badge) and 2) put on Vertical Doors.
With the Vertical doors, the door opens a little to the first stop and then up. Leaves the entire lower front area open. No climbing over, or kicking speaker panels. Gotta love 'em. Not just for looks, but a great medical reason. (That's what I told my wife anyway!)

Scrible, I would say the other driver was completely oblivious. Hope you didn't ding his passenger door too bad while trying to squeeze in your car.
My story: 25 years or so ago I parked in a lot in my weeny 83 front wheel drive Dodge Charger. The lot was set up so that stalls were marked out parallel to the side of the lot. I parked front end to the corner with concrete post in front to prevent the inattentive from driving over the curb and down an embankment.
Being a thoughtful, considerate driver; I pulled up pretty close to the posts so as to leave lots of distance behind my car so whoever parked behind me would have all sorts of room to maneuver into the stall behind mine. Like to guess where this is heading?
So I get back from whatever it was that I was doing only to find a Dodge Caravan parked behind me but positioned way forward out of his space and stitting maybe a foot or so off my back bumper.
Now my car is trapped - I have concrete posts in front and a minivan behind. Well, after pondering the situation for a couple of seconds; I got in my car, inched up as close as possible to the posts, cut the front wheels over, and then backed up as hard as I could. Bam! Hit the Caravan hard and pushed it back an inch or so, but more importantly I was able to swing my front end out a little. Unfortunately the end wasn't out enough so I had to pull forward and reverse again about three or four more times before my front would clear the posts, slamming into the Caravan each time. That 83 Dodge may have been a pathetic Charger wanabee but it was built tough and I had confidence the car would handle the blows, which it did. As for the Caravan, well, the front bumper cover was askewed in my mirror as I pulled away.

I had an old friend who used to park like this....after getting her car keyed a few times, she finally figured out that it might have to do with her driving skills.
I don't have a garage and the leaf blower is a problem here as well, saw him out there the other day, blowing off the sidewalks and sure enough right at my car... my only saving grace.... MY CAR COVER!!!! Thinking about carrying it everywhere with me!!!
