Toyota mess
I'm no fan of Toyota. They've cut costs and focused on making appliances instead of real cars for years now, and I'm glad that the myth of Toyota's superior quality is finally in the spotlight for Americans to see. That said, I feel that the wrong people are being blamed for this debacle. Akio Toyoda just recently became Toyota's CEO, and before this mess, he called out his company for being complacent and for focusing on profit margins instead of the driving experience. He wanted to resurrect Toyota's reputation for great performance vehicles, a return to the days of Supras, MR2's, and Celicas. I fear that this current mess and his resulting loss of face will mean another decade of bland and beige, instead of a return to the days when the initials "TRD" actually meant something, made worse by the fact that the wrong person is taking the blame.

They are not practical for very much. Or did you get it because you like the way it looks? and you realized that it's the journey not the destination. If you are so lame that you need a car that can park its self, maybe just maybe you should take a bus. Toyota is trying to sell us cars that will just get you there. You don't need to drive up highway 1 through Big Sur, just take the 5, so you will miss some trees and a view of the ocean from your roadster. please wake up, do some research, Toyota is trying to dumb us down. Just keep out of my way on highway 1.
My daily driver is a 2002 Avalon I inherited. Its never had a problem, hauls 6 people and gets 28mph.
