Default Idiots on Bicycles

Usually, kids on bikes doing dumb stunts bore me. I even kinda smirk when they get hurt.

This kid didn't bore me.

Thanks, I have seen it before but lost track of it. Anyone of those tricks would be great but put them together and you have quite a show. He is probably red flagged by the NHS.

A kid, 15 years, riding a girls bike crosses against a red light at a 4 lane highway intersection. He is wearing flip flops and no helmet
After weaving thru 45 MPH traffic he comes to the front of an SRT stopped to make a right turn at the light. He bumps the car, stops, falls over. Not a mark on the car except for some dust from the whitewall bike tire.
Kid falls, skins his knee.
Cops say no fault, tells the driver they are clear, no citations written. He sends kid to the hospital, just in case, where no problems arise.

Bandaged the kid goes home and the parents get a judgement for $11,000.
No kidding.

Is this a great country or what?

And you wonder why so many of my posts in the politics section mention how I cannot stand the lawyers or the legal system we have today.

Crumpy's.

She cried for days about the boy. Felt real bad about it until we got the notice from the insurance Co.

Frankly, if my dad had found out that I hit someone's car with my bike, I would have spent hours earning money to pay for the damage, once my butt had healed. My bike would have been put up in the garage for the summer.

No one will take responsibility for their actions anymore. Lawyers don't help.

was that a trial with a jury verdict, or was it your carrier settling? personally, if it was my carrier settling I would have told them that they need to be very careful here, because they are NOT representing my best interests by settling, based on the above facts, and in that case that brings the issue of bad faith. That would have got their attention. Unless of course they still wanted to do it and made sure that my premiums were not increased. if the car was stopped, and the kid ran into it,then I think Crumpy would have a case for mental distress over that poor child, and the anguish he caused her.

Yes and yes. Carrier wanted to just settle. We were surprised there was even a case going on.

We have been with Allstate for over 40 years. Our policy is non cancellable and not even available any more. This didn't go on our account. So we went with the settlement.

One can only fight so many battles.

What really bothers (besides their very existence) me is these people vote. I wonder what they vote on?

Other than that, cool video.

Edit: The voting thing is referencing Franc's post, not the bicyclist.

This guy makes me wish I was young enough and/or in shape enough to do what he does. He actually looks like he is really having fun.

...my only criticism is that he will more than likely end up on the dole if not already there, just depends on what he does with the rest of his time during those months.
