I too considered myself a democrat when I was a kid. And like you it was Jimmy Carter that tought me that I was NOT a Democrat. I was an Army aviator during the Carter years and we didn't even have enough fuel for our aircraft to train and stay proficient. I was stationed in Germany with the Soviets about 25 kilometers away. We knew that if they decided to come through the Fulda gap that we were toaste! Then came the Best President to fill the oval office... Ronald Reagan, within 3 months we had the fuel we needed and were well on our way back to being the well trained force we needed to be. And even though you liberals won't admit it... It was because of Reagan and Republican policies that we are no longer under a threat from the Soviet Union!!! There's a HARD FACT for you!!!

As for the statement the lib made about no facts..... I've had real life experiences that have given me all that facts I need to make a very informed choice and I pick Republican for national security reasons first and foremost!!! Without a strong defense we have no security. And the liberals will soon be answering to a different government and not one of their choosing. Without our freedoms the liberals won't have any money to give away in the form of welfare.. ... what will they do then???

Mr. Bush has enmeshed us in a war that we cant win and that we dont know how to end. Each loss is a reminder of the lessons never learned (if we settled for what we ended up with in Vietnam 25,000 casualties would have been avoided) Fantasy must always give way to reality.

There was one NVA general that said that they should stay the course and that the American people would cause them to achieve victory in the end. Well because of liberal ******** like you, that were protesting something they knew very little about, the war dragged on for 5 more years. I attribute every bodybag that came home from March of 1968 (end of Tet) until our last person left in 1973, to you liberal pieces of crap that have no sense of honor and country!

From where I'm sitting, we've had more freedoms taken away by Bush, Ashcroft, et. al. then by any radical muslims. It seems like people are willing to give up just about any of their freedoms in the name of safety and security these days, and frankly, it pisses me off.

We're a lot less free than we were a few years ago, and it only seems to be getting worse. Anyone who says they're for freedom and for Bush at the same time confuses the hell out of me.

That said, I'm going to take my own advice and steer clear of this thread from here on out if it keeps going the way it is. I know people have strong political beliefs, but this thread doesn't even resemble a discussion at this point -- it's more an excuse for a few people to hurl insults at anyone who doesn't agree with them. All I see is people being called "pieces of crap," "idiots," and "********."

Its pathetic that teachers at many schools are required to be bi-lingual so they can teach mexican kids their spanish when they should learn english if they are going to live here. America is too nice!!! If we moved to Mexico and expected them to teach our kids English, they would laugh in our face!!!! Plus we wouldn't get FREE hospital and food stamps and on and on. Raise Taxes (To support all the lazy forigners on the goverments ***)
Raise Gas Prices way above what we can pay. (To help throw the economy into a tail-spin)
Help so-called doctors abort (kill) all the babies they can. (Hey, I thought doctors were supposed to save lives not take them)
Allow same sex marriages (to help water down normal life and confuse kids on what is normal and what is perverted)
Create more government... (to peer into our lives and slam regulations on everyone taking away freedoms and pushing socialistic elements in our lives like good 'ol Europe.

Final Thought: When they took out prayer in schools, then the kids didn't have a prayer. Having tons of laws and all won't replace people having morals. In the old days even people who didn't go to Chruch pretty much had morals because schools taught respect and integrity that is so devoid in schools today. We have allowed the liberal thinking of foriegn countries to influence us and we are paying the price. 50 years ago America was a much safer place to live. What is influencing us now? Brittney is busy teaching young girls to dress and act like *****. Rap is telling the youth to do whatever you can to be a 'gangsta' along with drugs, crimes and banging women. No President is perfect but George W. Bush has integrity, morals, and loves this country. Whether or not you agree on the war you must remember: Our President only knew what he was told by our agents about iraq. We entered this war believing in a cause and just because Sadam turned out to be a wimp in a hole, we need to finish it and move on. I think the iraq people are too ignorant to live in a free society myself though and I also think their oil should fund the war and not the USA.--------------------------------------------------------------

All the knowledge in the world is worthless without morality and a conscience. A society without the latter two will degress in each generation till it self destructs. A liberal mind considers knowledge more inportant than morality and therefore has little or no conscience. The easiest way to determine a liberal society is to observe its art and expressions. What kind of art and expressions are we seeing today when we turn on the television or radio? What are kids being bombarded with in the name of "Entertainment". Why is there a plethora of problems in our schools today? The government is teaching knowledge without morality or conscience. It just doesn't work, remember Columbine and Santana Schools.


Having said that I would like to say I like everyone here in the forum even if they have a different opinion of things than I do. Our common thread here is our love for our Crossfires. When I started this post I never intended it to get so heated but but we all feel strongly about our beliefs so lets continue to discuss our Crossfire experiences, shall we?

Who defines what's "moral"? Any morals that are different than yours? It seems to me that people in general always want a dog to kick. Meaning that one wants their rights but anyone else "beneath" them...well, they are immoral or "less than" etc.

Having said that, I am not a liberal or a democrat. Or a Republican. Actually I would be a Republican if republicans were what they are suppossed to be but alas they are too tied to the Religious Right. SO...I'm Liberitarian. Less government, less intrusion on our liberties etc. I'm not against the war....not thrilled about it either.

Personally I think Bush and Kerry suck on many levels. Neither is anyone I would ever vote for.
