Agreed on the end of politics discussion.....

My day was not so good - I now have had my first fender (actually bumper) bender.

I bumped a lady in a 93 Olds Cutless in a parking lot. I really feel stupid about it. Just some paint scraped on my front bumper, but her front quarter panel is banged up.

It is really good that no one was hurt, but

Oh my aching insurance........

Once again I should have added more than two choices to the poll. Wow all the talk about the other guys besides Bush and Kerry, but hey that is what this country is all about... having the freedom to vote for who you think is the best choice. Sorry to HoustonDan and WonderDallas for the lack of more choices on the poll, I had just read some of the mud slinging on Yahoo's front page wanted to do a simple poll that really got us all talking

Yep, the gay marriage thing is a 'hot topic' lately. My twin brother is gay and we get along fine, I just don't belive in gay marriages....but to each their own beliefs.

I agree with CCrossfire, Teddy is bad enough on being 'left'....Kerry is even further left

GAS PRICES aren't up because of Bush!! Its greed in the oil industry, and having to rely on the the middle east for supply when we have plenty of resourses here that we aren't tapping. Also don't forget about the word Inflation. No president can keep every price down but at least his zipper isn't down... like you know who's.

Caught in a Crossfire : You sure won't see me buy any Harry Potter junk.

Surely BobaFettm really doesn't want Hillary in office in 2k8 :x

I agree with CCRossfire on Gas prices in Europe and Japan

Reg Kittrelle has a good point about wishing to be politically silent here in the forum and like I said before, I was just curious and made the poll on the spur of the moment.

Just remeber 9-11, if Clinton would have done his job, we would not have had a 9-11, Vote for Kerry and there goes our military, and we will be at risk again, look at his (kerry) record and then decide. I'll vote for Bush again, because he has the guts to get the job done, no matter what France thinks, kerry wants to kiss France's *** and become friends again, why the French can't defend themselves let alone us, I will rely on our true friends the Brits and as for the Gay issue, what has the Dems done for the Gays, nothing, don't ask- don't tell, what a joke, Kerry is also disapproves of same sex marriage!!!!!! Rock on Bush!!!!!k:

Is Pat Paulson (sp?) still around? My vote is for him if he is.

Remember, it's not what's the party -- it's *where's* the party!

First let me say IMO this thread should have never been posted to this board. Since it was and being a vocal person (not always right tho), here is my vote for Bush and why....

If you want to live in a country that is "free" and "thinks for itself", then vote Bush. If you want a country that looks towards the UN and other countries for approval in deciding our fate and Kerry's one world way of thinking, then vote for him.

BTW: Where does it say the government is to take care of you from cradle to grave??? That's Socialism!!! Me, I'm tired paying for everyone else... let them get out and provide for themselves.

Whether the Viet-Nam War was "right or wrong" is not an issue to be considered. However, my experieces during that time of my life have influenced my political views today.

I was "lucky" enough to have only made it "in country" a few times as a C-141 Crew Chief, in and right out.. in one short hour (if you can even call the flightline at Saigon in country). However, I was stationed at Yokota AB, Japan '70-'76 and worked on many of the C-141 Air Evac missions there... Wes and other Viet-Nam Vets our paths may of crossed there unknowingly. I was the young Crew Chief you didn't notice standing by the large clam shells doors, watching as you were carried off to the Med Evac hospital before being sent on your way home on another flight.

The two things I saw there that will stay with me and forever and influence my views are:

¥ The guys being taken off/being put back on those planes laying on that uncomfortable Army green stretcher, some of which were covered completely having passed on while in transit. Without going into detail, most were in bad shape, very bad shape and it was easy to see their pain and suffering.

¥ Wes, as you must know and for those that donetc the large metal transport coffins were brought back aboard C-141 cargo transport aircraft. The C-141 has 10 pallet positions, nine on the cargo floor and one the on ramp at the tail of the plane. I've seen many planes go thru Yokota with the coffins aboard mixed in with cargo (at least they were placed at the front of the plane). Only once did I see a plane "fully" loaded with caskets carrying the remains of the fallen... stacked three wide, three high, nine to a pallet. Only the nine pallet positions on the cargo floor were used. 9 caskets to a pallet x 9 pallets... that's a total of 81 souls going home that gave it their all. The coffins where sealed but you could still smell the stench of death onboard those planes wether it carried one or eightyone coffins. It's a sight and smell I will carry with me forever.

For those that served... here's my salute to you. I will NEVER aid in the surrender of this country to the whims of another. Voting for Kerry is the first step in doing just that.........................

Sorry for the soap box vent, but it really gets my goat when a phony bastard like Kerry even gets a shot at being "my" Commander-In-Chief and the president of this country!!!

Default Nader for President

We dont live in a democracy. Now its the best goverment money can buy.

The vietnam vets still havent learned that we were on the wrong side of a civil war. and under Bush we are a danger to the rest of the world.
Watch "Fog of war " educate yourself.

Hopefully the next election will move the political spectrum to the left and we will have a more socialistic goverment.

Here goes... a flame war.

Man, you need to educate "yourself" and think about what you are saying and what Socialism is!!!

¥ We live in a Democratic Republic... do you even know what that means???

¥ The issue of the Viet-Nam war being "right" or "wrong" is not the main concern here but at that point in time, our "elected" leaders thought it was!!! I only stated my expereinces during that time influenced my beliefs... Boy, I'm glad other countries didn't think like you when it came time for our War of Indepence and Civil War!!! Just think, we could still be an English Colony with slavery still a way of life, if other countries didn't come to our aid back then.

¥ A Presidential candidate who believes in a one world policy and would look to other countries for their approval in the way we run "our" country is a BIG concern.

¥ You said:"...Hopefully the next election will move the political spectrum to the left and we will have a more socialistic goverment".

You've got to be kidding!!! The USA, a "SOCIALIST" country??? For everyone's sake I hope you're just trolling here!!! You want a socialist country to live in, then move there and get your welfare check, socialized medicine and all that goes with it!!! Ask any Canadian how they like their medical system (and you thought our HMO's were bad). Oh, do you even know what the once powerful USSR stands for??? How about the "Union of Socialists Soviet Republics", ring a bell??? Didn't work out too good did it???

Man, have your own politcal views, but don't ever suggest a "socialist" way of life for this country. BTW: I'm sure the new socialist government you wish for won't give everyone a Crossfire to drive... you may get lucky with a Yugo or a bicycle. Hey and we can also give up free enterprise and capitalism, that way we can all live on $7.95 an hour.

Get real............

Yeah, let's watch some movies and then decide on our political agenda based on what the movie says. See, I think if we had just destroyed the ring in the first place, we wouldn't be in this mess. Then again, the precious is quite tempting.

Wonderdallas can relax and enjoy hie Crossfire since in order to amend the Constitution it requires 2/3 vote of Congress and passage in 38 states.I doubt seriously you could get that many people to agree on anything these days. The ERA never got through and it was directed at a much larger % of the population.

By the way I'll vote for Bush again even though I'm not too sure about his fettish for Vincente Fox and some of Fox's ideas. I suppose they like to sit around and chat about their MBA days.

I think the Dems threw up Kerry to act as a placeholder until Ms. Clinton could run more easily in 08 (she thinks). Of course by then she'll be in the 60 range and a Margaret Thatcher she isn't. We seem to be electing " relatively strapping" men these days. I won't have too much time for the forum as I will be spending every waking hour working to defeat her. Call it woman's intuition
but she seemed very scary from the beginning.

I will stop now, but you've probably gathered politics is right up there with the Crossfire.

Youch... I shoulda realized when I got me an expensivish car what kind of company I'd be putting myself in politically.

In the interests of peace and harmony I think I'll refrain from opening my mouth too wide on this particular topic.

Oooh, look -- a tree. I think I'll go hug it.

As the Iraq invasion is turning into what many thought, and the Geo (Pinochio) Bush fans are dwindling. I am delighted.
Would love to vote for Ms. Clinton,,,Could never understand the venom she inspired. Must be the Crossfire golfers in their pastel pants who are threatened by a strong woman

Dear sealevel;
You and I have very different attitudes as to what costitutes a strong woman. I for one don't want the leader of the free world to be someone who chose not to exhibit anymore strength of character than to remain with a man who repeatedly cheated and lied during their relationship. If she were so strong she'd have dumped him like yesterday's news and
gone on to shine on her own.
Also, before making blanket statements about Xfire owners please note many years ago I voted for Jimmy Carter.
I also don't play golf. I seem to spend most of my time these days driving for the American Cancer Society getting patients to chemo and radiation appointments ( however not in my Xfire).
I'll close by saying I think it is great that we can disagree on some topics and agree to be simpatico on our Xfires. This is really a wonderful place to have been born in spite of all its warts . Let's keep up the spirited. Nikki discourse and who knows we may just teach each other something.

You can't be serious. She rode Bill's coattails to get elected in a state where she didn't even have a residence until something like a year before the ballots were counted. She had no right becoming a senator and if she ever runs for president she would get less than 20% of the vote. Of course that 20% would probably be feminists and people like you who vote solely on a partisan priority. Also, you're happy Bush failed and troops are dieing? What is wrong wih you sir?

I thought we were going to let this thread go away???

But.....

My understanding is that the polling numbers for President George W. Bush are actually up. His name is not "Geo (Pinochio) Bush" - whether or not you like the man, he has a title that deserves respect!!! To belittle the title is to belittle out entire form of government.

I get truly angry then the press refers to "President Hussain", but "Mr. Bush". It makes us the laughing stock of the entire world.....

And why didn't Ms. Clinton (your use - why not Mrs. Clinton?) go home to Arkansas to run for the Senate? Becuase maybe they know something that we don't......

And I personally hate golf!!!!
