How my day is going...
Pizzaguy: I don't have a good answer for you...It can be dishearting at times..For me what it comes down too, is knowing at the end of the day I did my job to the best of my ability If I started each day thinking of the end result. I would not even leave the parking lot. However when you see things that happen to a person like Rush you want to do all you can to locate and arrest those involved. BTW your last statement was on the money,,,,
Rush - I concur with OleDoc - check with your homeowners insurance. I know here in NJ if your property, including your car/bike/etc is damaged on your property it's covered by your homeowners, not your auto policy. Been there, done that... For example: You back your car into your garage door - both the garage door and your car would be covered under the homeowners policy - it wouldnt even be reported to your auto insurance company...
Good Luck!

A guy I worked for up in Michigan had a very interesting way of keeping his stuff safe: an alarm system.
It would go off if you entered the place and didn't hit the right numbers on the keypad within about 30 seconds.

OH, did I mention that the alarm tripped a 200 watt siren and two of those old-school alarm bells? ALL of three of these were INSIDE! I set it off by accident once and the noise was actually PAINFUL. So loud, you could hear it several hundred feet away.... and way worse inside.
Nothing is foolproof, but I KNEW it was there... imagine some kid that doesn't realize what he's in for!

As for parts, the car should be covered. As for the Harley, They destroyed my $425.00 Corbin solo seat was heavily slashed. But I might be able to recover it. Any help on someone that specializes in leather bike seats, that is talented, would help. The rest is just replacing the front tire and tube. I ordered them last night. The back tire was bald and I already had a new tire bought for it. Back to the seat. I have around 7 different seats. Three of those were solo seats. I had the other two solo's set on a bench in the garage. I thought they had managed to escape harm...Nope, one, my favorite, an alligator covered solo was slashed clear through the center. So I'm good on all fronts except repainting the rear fender and the tank. I may have to be content to ride it with it's new scars. I'll just tell all the girls I wrecked it running from the bank I robbed. Besides girls loves scars...don't they?
I really want to thank you for your offer. It means a lot to know there are people out there willing to help.

Just so you are aware, last year in the town of Greece N.Y. at 230 am 3 teenagers were seen breaking into cars on the street. A neighbor heard the noise and looked out his bedroom window and saw these punks breaking into a neighbors car , not his. He called the police and decided to confront these guys outside, he was armed with a pistol. In the commotion one of them ran towards him. This gentleman was very large and could handle himself but decided to put 2 bullets in the kid. The police charged him with murder and after a lengthy trial he was found not guilty. At a first look someone could say he had no right going outside, it wasn,t his car, and the police were on the way, and apparently one bullet stuck the kid in the back. The jury here found him innocent, and talk radio in rochester was 10 to 1 in favor of the innocent verdict. People are fed up are starting to fight back. Do not ever be afraid to defend your property.

Doesn't sound like a first time event and mebbe they're stupid enough to leave a clue.

I guess he could start up his own CSI lab, first priority though is to find the hot looking babes to staff it.
My grandpa used to tell me there were dozens of ways to disrepect a man. But nothing shows lowlife desrespect more than senseless destruction of his work.
So sorry for your losses Rush.
Here's hoping the perps are found out and the law shows them no kindness.
But more, that your life and your property, soon gets back to normal.

PPD investigates recent burglaries
Parsons police are investigating nine burglary related crimes that occurred early Wednesday morning on the west side of Parsons.
Deputy Police Chief Scott Gofourth said no arrests have been made but officers have spoken with three suspects in the crimes and hope to interview a fourth and possibly seek charges. The suspects range in age from 16 to 21.
The burglaries occurred in the 2500 block of Washington, the 2300 and 2400 blocks of Clark, the 2400 block of Crawford and the 2200 block of Stevens.
Two homes were broken into, one of them with the family sleeping inside. Five detached garages were broken into, and three vehicles received damage either independently or during a burglary.
An undisclosed amount of cash was taken from the home in which the family was sleeping. Officers are still working on the reports, so additional information was not available.
“We’re still investigating,” Gofourth said.
Persons with information on the crimes may call the police department at 421-7060 or the tip line, 421-7057.

PPD releases more details on burglaries
The Parsons Police Department released more details on the string of burglaries that occurred late Tuesday night and early Wednesday morning in the Fourth Ward of Parsons.
Deputy Police Chief Scott Gofourth said reports have been filed with the Labette County Attorney’s Office for review. Three Parsons individuals, a 19-year-old, a 21-year-old and a 16-year-old, have been identified as suspects in the case. Charges have not yet been filed in the cases.
“We need the public’s help in solving crimes like this,” Gofourth said. “We encourage neighbors to call the police department when you see something suspicious in your neighborhood.”
In addition to the burglaries on Tuesday and Wednesday, a 39-year-old Parsons man has been named as a suspect in a separate residential burglary earlier in the week. According to a spokesperson for the police department, that case also has been sent to the Labette County Attorney’s Office for review.
Gofourth said in a statement from the city that there are several simple ways to help prevent break-ins, such as locking vehicles; not leaving things of value in plain sight in vehicles; locking homes, garages and storage sheds; and not being afraid to report suspicious activity.
The Parsons Police Department has several contact options. Residents can call the tip hotline at 421-7057, call the department’s office at 421-7060 or send an e-mail to Tips@parsonspd.com.

Well it looks like you have a little good news , the police have some possible suspects, If I were you I would sue the 21 and 19 year old and the 16 year olds parents, Even if they don't have any money you can garnish their wages and put a lien on future earnings. Make their lives as miserable as possible, arm yourself and hope they try it again when you are home.Little worthless maggots, to bad the car didn"t hit them. Hopefully they will be charged and do a little time.
I think Rush has the arm yourself part handled already
I hate to see this happen to anyone. From the pictures, it appears it could go two ways. Either the boys were just simply trying to mess up everything as badly as possible, or IMO they either knew you or have noticed you around. I have seen more and more lately where the 'have nots' are destroying things the 'haves' have worked so hard to get because in their minds they think, "If I can't have it, no one should"
It's a damn shame....
