Re: Barrett-Jackson this weekend
I love watching BJackson. I am not addicted to it but I do appreciate the cars. Someday they will be moving a Crossfire across that floor. I may not be here but I hope my car will be held by someone that loves this vehicle.
I do not want my car to be found in a barn with chicken droppings all over it in 50 years.

Re: Barrett-Jackson this weekend
It started on Tuesday. They usually have the "cheaper" cars on the first day, but those were going for $25-30 grand.
I saw a 2006 ( I think) Mustang Roush with almost 30,000 miles on it go for $26,000 and it was only a Stage I.
It's nice to see people have money for cars again.
Especially for that '56 De Soto convertible that went for $335,000.

I love it too but take a break once and a while. My friend that owns happy days dream cars sold his 70 cuda with a viper engine and interior for 100k. Actually got to see him in the crowd with his buddies last night

Two of my best friends owned 1970 Mach I's, and one of them has one now. (Just not his "original car".)
When did you sell yours?

If we only knew then what we know now.
BTW: I only had a glimpse of it during the auction, but a newer (2010?) blue specialty Mustang with SN 1 of 1 went for something like $200K? What was that all about?

That paticular one was a 2012 and the ONLY "BLUE" Boss 302 they promised they would make.
They auctioned off a lot of brand new Mustangs for several different charities. Ford sponsors the show, so go figure.
If you would have asked me what color your car was, I would have guessed green. Like Chrysler, I think more than half of all the 69 Mach I's came that color, it was so popular back then.
What years did you own your car? Was it a "Super Cobra Jet"?

Where the Super's (494ci?) set up with an automatic tranny? Imagine an auto with 735 HP!

Re: Barrett-Jackson this weekend
A friend of mine has a 1970 Mach One with the 428 Super Cobra Jet engine. He bought it brand new. We drove it to work for several years. He had a 3 barrell Holley on it. It would clean my 390 AMX's clock. He put it away after a few kids and it and mine sat in storage for years. He got the mustang back out last summer, restored it and it is a perfect one owner car. Just wonder what it would be worth. It isn't for sale either.
Re: Barrett-Jackson this weekend
The BarretJackson auctions have one very interesting fact. The cars sold can bring more money than invested. The cost to the seller for initial purchase and then restoration or customizing can be quite high. In my case I paid $4000 for my Tiger but did all the work myself. Not for sale. Insured @ 60K. Gary
