Also, Android > iPhone. Depending on your application Apple computers can be better, but I can build the same system with the same or better specifications for cheaper. Just doesn't make sense to use Apple. Windows 7 is heads and shoulders better than XP/Vista, and I just don't like OSX or Snow Leopard, or whatever it is called now.

I have looked into the programs I have that are not compatible with Windows 7 and I have decided to add another hard drive and run AutoCad 2005 and a few other programs on XP as is and the compatible programs on Windows 7 on the new hard drive.

iPhones are like Instagram. Instagram is the autotune for wannabe shutterbugs. You can be a positively shitty photographer but with "Instagram to the rescue", suddenly everything's in sepia-tone and Kincaid is contacting you for rights to the photo.
I view my gadgets the same way Louis C.K. does: even the worst gadget can communicate with a satellite and make the trip from Earth to space back to Earth in seconds... Considering space travel was but a dream 60 years ago, we've come a long way. If it takes my phone 20 seconds (aka forever) to update a status that no one cares about, it's still an outright miracle.

I see the android/iPhone and pc/mac argument the same way I see left wing/right wing arguments.
People are so fixated on believing the product they choose is the best and can not for the life of them see the other sides perspective.
Brand loyalty is a funny thing because we all want to believe we made the right choice when really there are multiple paths to be taken to the same answer.
I have an android Razor max phone, an OG ipad that is jail broken, an ipad 2 I use for work, a macbook I use for travel, 2 pc's at work and a gaming rig. One of my pc's runs windows 7, one runs linux, and one I have on Vista because I love it. Guess what? They all do the same things, some of them do some things better or differently. It just depends on what works for you the consumer. There is no sense trying to convince someone to buy the product that fits you because it may not fit into their needs. Honestly my mother and sister use blackberry's still because they love the full keyboard for emails. My dad uses and iphone to only make calls for crying out loud.
The only thing brand loyalty does is screw your pocket book because you can not wait to pump your money into there next great thing... I mean look at me for crying out loud. I can not stop pumping money into a car that it seems the world hated but I love to death!

However, I find it odd that an IT guy would much prefer the caged nature of Apple products to the ability to customize and tinker with the Android product.
enough about Android/Apple...that conversation could go on all day and well into the night. To each their own.

Sadly, stupidity has no gender loyalty, or brand loyalty.

My Macbook Air is the same way, I use it for music, a few games, and Sunday morning church service. My windows PC is for work, and occasionally I play with a Linux box. Even if I had more time I still probably wouldn't go to the extent of customizing a box.
I'm curious what Tom thinks on this subject.

I have jail broken my phones a couple of time, but end up going back to the locked Apple OS.
