Dead pedal. I've seen it a few times. I don't like the fact that you can see through the holes. Other than that, it's not terrible.
a seperate silicone rubber insert with non-skid raised surface multi pads for strength, is added to the rear and the circular pads mount through matching holes in the aluminum pedal surface.
You can brace your weight in hard turns also, as in autocrossing as I do, made one to do just that back in the day 2007 and the crowd laughed. Woody Enjoy.
dead pedals have been around for years. We even use them in the big rigs to give you a comfortable platform for your left leg. That is a nice price for a nice looking dead pedal...
The key to a properly functioning dead pedal is shimming/blocking for a firm but comfortable plant of your foot at the right height after you have your seat adjusted just right. If you don't do that, they're kinda useless; but they look cool, lol. And, as Woody mentioned, they are very helpful in Autocross. My Sunday $.02 worth.
If the insert makes it look like our other pedals, I'd say it's damn nice for the price.
I have one installed in my coupe, like many other owners here. Definitely don't need the mounting pads to make it work....
I could see the appeal to this (and have driven cars with a dead pedal before), if and only if the car is an automatic. with three pedals already, i wouldn't imagine needing another one (except maybe for road trips??). I have never AutoXed but i would think in a manual there would be too much clutch action needed to warrant this? just my $.02.
You generally stay in second pretty much the whole time because the course is small and very technical, sometimes hitting third, but there is so much turning and sliding, you can get thrown around your cockpit, so you use the dead pedal to steady yourself and put your weight into, works very well.

I remember someone promising me one of these back when I had my SRT.
Wonder what happened.
I sure miss the days when I programmed and had access to a CNC turret punch and Laser!
I'll whip one out in ~ 2 months. I'm a bit behind!
