Default Finally a homeowner again...

After losing our last house when the "bubble" collapsed, I am pleased to say that today my wife and I just signed the papers on the house we had been renting from friends for the last year. No more lending trickery, 30 year fixed rate VA loan at a simply amazing 3.375% interest rate.
Pretty excited, AND we dont even have to move!!!

Joe, its Sunday at 3pm. Feel free to drop on by and bring Helena along too!
Pizzaguy, I really didnt want a 30 year either but thats the only option with a VA loan unfortunately. You take what you can get when your credit is pretty marred. The VA is the only reason we were able to get a loan in the first place so I guess I'll take the bruises with the apple to save myself $300 a month on housing. With my forebearance on student loans coming close to ending we had to find a good way to make ends meet without going back to a bread and water diet. This fit out needs. When the loans are paid off in a few years we will just dump the extra into payments. No prepayment penalties or any crap like that to deal with.

Congratulations on your new home! I hope you and your wife have a gazillion happy moments in it. I have many friends who got caught in the 'bubble', including neighbors who used their children's college funds with all the best of intentions. If only we all had a crystal ball...........

LOL get ready, soon you'll be getting all kinds of "honey-do's" that have likely been brewing in her head for the past few years

Oh no, not my wife,
She only likes small projects;
Move the kitchen to the room behind it,
Wall to wall hardwood flooring (barnwood I might add),
Huge patio remodel/expansion.

Yeah, she thinks small…

I have waaay to much to get caught up on to be able to make a drive this weekend. I might not get a weekend next weekend so no plans are being made right now.

Agreed and thanks!
I may never be lucky enough to win millions in the lottery, but I have never not had a job to go to and have never not had anything I needed to survive so I guess thats luck in itself.
