7 here at 7am. But they say 60 or more on Saturday with rain.

I'll take the rain.

Wow! I know what you guys are feeling. It actually dropped below 75 degrees here in SoCal for a few minutes yesterday.

That was a good thing. We never lost power. We have single digits without the minus sign right now....it is warming up....

Power in Florida is "interesting". I have battery back ups/UPS on just about everything electronic, a Variac in the equipment closet, and three generators up to 4kw. Of course we usually lose power in the June-October timeframe and haven't had a major outage since 2004.

Well, Florida. Hope you enjoyed the cold blast we sent your way. Just finished getting another 4" snow fall. I cleaned the driveway one more time. At least I don't have to worry about doing my rehab exercises. I am getting plenty of arm movement and lifting. We might make 32° today which will be our high for the week. Single digits at night, teens during the week for highs. I guess we have been lucky for several yrs and it is finally going to pay us back. Poor cars (daily drivers) aren't getting a break this yr. Poor MB is passed service, and I haven't the room or time to get it in. My wife has to drive the ole' Hoe. That she isn't liking, but hey. It goes thru the snow. That E-350 is great on slick snowy roads, but it sits so low, I am afraid she will tear something up in the lower bumper cover. Been a great car so far. It is a 4-matic. Highly recommend it.

Well, it's still a roller coaster here. Single digits, then warms up snows, drops into the basement like -14 predicted for Monday night. Warms back up snows...lol. What pay back we are getting for all those mild winters. Shortage on propane, fuel oil, salt, and the list goes on. Trucking has been fun as well. Hope some of you are escaping it. Little Zuki is doing pretty well in it. Still thinking of mounting a UTV V-plow to the zuke. Might save the ole' back and arm to push, rather than shovel. Or, maybe it's time for a new snow blower. Stay warm. 30's for a few hours and then its headed to the deep freeze for the rest of the week.

Tomorrow for the Minneapolis area, the high will be around 8 below zero. Yeah, that's right - 8 below zero. Add in the gusting winds, we're looking at a wind chill of around 40 below. Of course, the mail must go through, so I will be delivering to my 321 deliveries from house to house on foot. It's funny, after 25 years of doing this, my toes and fingers don't get that cold. I feel sorry for the new hires - their bodies just aren't used to it. At least I know this is my last winter - I'm retiring in May. For all of you folks out there, please drive carefully. And dress for the cold in your region!

Weather is gonna be about the same here near Chicago
I'd be fine if my mail wasn't delivered on a day with these extremely cold temps
I commend you for your devotion to your job and hope you can dress warm enough to get through the day

Jeez, I hope that's not a shredded Stars and Stripes hanging there or you'll have the legion on your neck.
Shinny up the pole and take her down.

You're all a bunch of woosies over the weather, what the heck are you going to do when it gets cold.

You are correct Dave...4' of snow around the damn flag pole right now...it will come down asap once I can get to it...the wind has been gusting so hard, it ripped it to shreds a few nights ago. Should have brought her in before it hit. Ole' Glory will be fine until I can replace her. She doesn't come in for much since I have added the light.

Thought I'd post some pictures of the Snowrollers we have in our yard, don't see them too often aruond here. Conditions have to be just right with enough moisture in the air and strong emough winds that it actually picks up enough snow to roll it's own snow *****

Go South.
maybe here,,
equatorial climate, high temperatures (around 30 °C [86 °F]), and with very little annual temperature variation. equatorial regions lie within about 12° latitude of the Equator.

That is so funny Rick, Barb and I just came in about 20 minutes ago from taking photos of the "snow Rollers" all over our yard too.
First time we have ever seen or heard of them until today.
