Post Movie The Last Survivor

This is a story that needed to be told! It is very intense ,wife and i felt like we had been to a memorial for a loved one. You will not leave feeling good.

We were going tonight as it just opened here. But the Colts are in the play offs tonight, so we are going tomorrow...don't be telling the ending. But, I have read the story, so I hope the movie is as good. We have some very brave patriotic young men and women out there every day doing a job most wouldn't want to do. Or could not do. I love doing local Wounded Warrior projects. Working on car related event now... They are all heroes.

Johnny-Q-Public just has no idea what it takes to commit to a cause that may put lives in danger daily. We ask of these troops (in all branches) their all, and when they get hurt or separate from their service it seems they are just pushed aside and marginally forgotten. So many think this commitment is 'just a job' but those who served know better. I just wish congress would quit taking away promised benefits and treat all vets alike in a way that would honor their service and sacrifice. Right now, this is not happening (backlogs of disability claims, reduction of pay and allowances, reduced COLA's, substandard care at VA facilities). Some programs tuned to hiring vets are extremely helpful, but I believe it would take a lot more ex-military in congress to provide this type of unique perspective. God Bless America, but for God's sake take care of those who stood a post, et-al!

What movie is this? I find two movies of that name but neither fits what is alluded to in this thread.

Thanks, the OP used the words 'The Last Survivor'. That makes a big difference. I guess the movie really shook him up.

Very well stated, sir.

Way too much money is going to worthless human debris that makes up the "self made loser class" while our vets go without. Senior citizens are next.

We haven't gone yet but are planning too. I am very grateful that my son-in-law has returned safely yet again (3rd tour in Afghanistan), attached to the 101st Airborne.

Sorry Doc I must have had 101st on the brain for some reason, He is actually with the 82nd at Fort Bragg NC. I'm trying to do the forum and watch Gas Monkey Garage at the same time. This show is getting so goofy it is really dumbing down my brain.

I plan to see it this week. Friends told me the movie did a good job of telling the story, though difficult to watch at times.

I acquired and watched Platoon yesterday. The most effective anti war movie I have seen. I was USN at that time.

I would like a ride in one of those! That would be great. I was invited last year to watch a jump my son in law was doing but apparently they don't do that when a storm is coming.
