Default 12v Supply to the Trunk / Boot

Hi All
can anyone tell me how to remove the main light switch as I want to get to the rear so I can piggy back the 12v feed so I can run a cable to the trunk / boot . Take it if was to do this , when the ignition is turned on / of the 12v feed to the rear will also be on / off. Unless any other ideas where can pick a feed up to do the same .Reason being I don't want to run a feed direct from the battery and have a constant feed when car is turned off.
There is I take it a 12v feed to the rear of the switch ???

Thanks in anticipation

How much current do you expect to require for what you are doing? If we are talking, say, 10 amps or less, use an "add a tap" in the underhood fuse box, pick one of the switch-supplied fuses.

Add A Circuit Fuse Tap Standard Blade Fuse Holder ATO ACU 12/24V 15A - Walmart.com

Hi Ya
Thanks for the advice , but just took it to the local Electrical Auto Tech in the end . The 12v feed was required to run an illuminated wind restrictor from King Penn and the auto controls that I got as an add on extra. Not done the wiring yet but at least I now have a feed In the trunk which means I don't have to run with the lights on to power the units..
But thanks for getting back to me .

I just installed my WR two weeks ago. I tapped a fuse in the box I mentioned and ran the wire to the back myself. There is a super-easy route from the fuse box to the inside of the cabin, I need to make a video of how to do it.

Super easy and it exists in all models and years of Crossfires.

(Sorry you spend money on something like THAT!)

And yea, there was NO WAY I was going to wire to lights - how can I leave it running in parking lots if I have all those damn lights on? Glad I'm not the only one who thought it necessary to do this.............

There is UNSWITCHED 20 amps ( from 2 different fuses ) available at the locking pump in the trunk on connector C2 pins 2 & 4 :

Unfortunately, I don't see any switched connections .......

If you are going to pursue this, groping in the dark is a waste of time. Download the own'ers manual and service manual so you know what you are doing.

Here you go:

To answer your question, it's fuse 2 in the ICM. At least in '05 it was, they changed some fuses around under the hood, but I think the ICM stayed the same all thru production.
