If you need something different in televised entertainment, I suggest checking on the livestream of the Litlhruthr volcano in Iceland. One week ago today a 200 meter long fissure opened and the flow of lava began. Currently, the cone is abouit 70 meters and the flow of lava is around 14 cubic meters per second.

I've not owned a TV since 2008. While there does exist some good material on there, most of it is a waste of time and intellect, if not a full-out insult on intellect.
Re: Post Something Random (No politics)
With that in mind how would you compare it to Face Book?

Going to the hospital is putting your faith into the hands of some doctors who were at the bottom of the class.
I dislocated my knee cap twenty years ago and it popped back in position on its own, in pain I saw a doctor who said it was impossible the way I did it, so did other docs I saw about the pain, five years later a doc said yes it was possible and I had severed a nerve which at the time needed immediate surgery. Too late now though he said.
In 2020 I was sent home from a hospital after being told the pain in my right groin area was just a sprain, four hours later my family doctor told me to return to the hospital at once by ambulance, my chart had been misread and I actually had acute appendicitis. They had to delay the op as l was on blood thinners. The next day I had the op and the appendix had ruptured, later they found it was cancerous which meant another op to see if it had spread, thankfully it had not. I owe my family doctor a big thank you. During all the tests they found a 3/8” kidney stone and an aneurysm on my aorta, this resulted in three more ops, so four ops in four months. All this in the Covid shutdown, at one time I was in the children’s ward as the other wards were filled with Covid or critical care patients. I have to tip my hat to the hospital personnel who worked under the stress but remained upbeat.
The worse case was with my wife’s friend, she was told by two hospitals that her pain in her stomach was nothing, a doc at the third hospital took her seriously and found ovarian cancer which had spread to her liver. She has just had her second chemo session.
I think there is something to be said for the US medical system, they look for sickness because it means cash. My total for my ops was $45 for the ambulance, I wonder how much it would have cost in the US of A?
I had cataract surgery on both eyes done privately as I did not want to wait for them to get bad enough to get them done on the government plan, it cost nearly $8,000. If you want to pay here you can get things done quicker, so we are a little like the US in that regard.

Fakebook is only helpful with keeping up with a large group of people, like the Crossfires. Other than that, Fakebook is crap.
I have nothing all that positive to say about FB.

All the major German automakers have announced that they will no longer supply software updates to their customers and (former) dealer network in Russia. Just one more reason not to own a car modern enough to require software updates.
This sort of thing has other implications also. I forget which year it became a requirement, but cars today must be able to receive downloads wirelessly. It has been pointed out that a nation hostile to you would have the ability to send code that would simply shut down your vehicle. Assume Japan did that to their cars in the USA, or once Chinese cars have a large presence here, that they did the same. Or even that the U.S. government decided to take such an action. Something to think about. I would rather simply own a car that could not be remotely disabled!

PLanned obsolescence is here, in the auto market. Soon, you will be told, "Ya gotta buy a new one, this is not supported", just like with computers, printers, etc.
Just wait a few years, if you own a 2020 or later model, you will NOT be driving it in 2030.
The American consumer, dumb as a box of rocks.... but their money sure is nice to have.

ALL technology is a two-edged sword, and the EV is the best example of this. The EV moves pollution from the city to the country (where the power is produced), and for that reason, they are helpful in cleaning up inner-city air. But the EV is way ahead of the game insofar as monitoring or controlling movement.
To say nothing of @WD40 's remark about the cost of a battery large enough to power a car.

Here's my "random" though. Everyone's daily weather forecast shows a steady wind speed and the direction it will come from. My Wednesday forecast shows a windspeed of 65+ MPH!! It just seems so weird to see that on my forecast that I laughed!!!

Ideology drives the bus. When big business and government collude - anything outlandish is possible,………. because hey, who is going to stop us?
Electric vehicles are going to be forced down our throat no matter the cost. Facts don’t matter because beam counters are muffled. Congress is bought and paid for, for their silence. All because tyrants drive the bus.
so sit down, shut up, and enjoy the ride
