Re: Molded Carbon Fiber dash and body pieces
You can go through my gallery. You will see a number of pictures of pieces on my car and other crossfires. You will also see several parts for other cars as well.
The process takes about 3 days of prep, application, finishing and polishing. The rest of the time is to and from shipping.
Pricing can be figured at 60 cents per sq inch. Figure a part at as a rectangle and allow for edges. If there are sections within with cut out areas, ignore that and figure the entire sq in surface. Minimum charge per part is $30.

Karl, I don't know how I missed this, but did you come up with the "turned" finish....we use to do this on some of the pro stock cars when I was a kid working at Norm Paddack's shop...I didn't do it, but one of the sheet metal guys did on the vertical mill....it is a great look if done right...I take it, yours is an overlay....plastic? or real metal?.....
Re: Molded Carbon Fiber dash and body pieces
We refer to it as hydro graphics. The finish is amazing and extremely durable. Look in my gallery of all the parts on my engine.

Yea, thats the one thing that amazed me. Its remarkably tough. A buddy just became a distributor and he was like "here, try ti scratch it" handing me a shift **** he had coated.. Shy of dropping it on the ground I couldnt scratch it.
I've thought about having a few interior parts and the valve covers done, just not sure on what pattern I want

I PMed Karl a little while ago and he said he was going to try and get a sample of it, if I get it, I can show it to you next time I see you.
I think the CF is getting played out and against a black XF, the turned would look amazingly classy IMO.
Re: Molded Carbon Fiber dash and body pieces
Neither. It is a printed "fabric" that is bonded to the piece then several layers of clear coat covers it. You may have noticed it on my windshield surround, engine belt cover and air boxes and console. Stuff wears like iron and you care for it as you would the exterior paint.

Re: Molded Carbon Fiber dash and body pieces
It shouldent Be a Problem. Ill Talk to Dan, the owner of VR.
Is there a real Demand for carbon Fiber parts? just to make sure, cause I have a Reputation to Loose. But of course I would Love to help.
Are we Talking about only certain parts(ie Interior trim) or possibly everything (whole Parts like à Hood etc).
Please let me Know.
