Add Rollover Hoops To A Hardtop Coupe
i've just purchased my first crossfire, it's a '06 and i got it from Steve White, great deal. well anyways here's my question, i'm modifying it, it's being 'painted' flat black with some interesting 'work'... well besides that, i've seen a few photos of coupes with roll cages, but usually the car is totally gutted to get the cage in, i want to put at least half a cage in the car (my last car a GTI was totaled when a guy in jeep ran a light and rammed into me, the only thing that saved me from being crushed was my roll cage). so is there a autopower half cage??? also, i've seen those rollover hoops on a coupe, is that easy to do? can the coverts hoops be used and just bolted in? if so I could weld in from those... any ideas? also, headlights, i got those yellow tints for the headlights but it's cheesy, anyone know of anyone making yellow headlights for the crossfire??? i can't find any... any help would be great. thanks guys.
I'm not sure about the convertible rollover hoops being used in a coupe, however, for this kind of thing, if you go to a good shop that does race chassis builds or mods (including roll cages), they would be able to fabricate something for you. How it would actually look inside the car you'd have to discuss with the fabricator and would be dependent on their skill level and probably how much money you are willing to spend for time and materials. I suspect that if you went to scca's website and looked for your local scca forum, you could probably find some people in your area with experience with local shops who could make some recommendations.
Derek (user HDDP) has a purpose-built roll cage in his XF racecar.
