Can a manual shift **** (universal) be switch with the automatic shift **** on a 2005 Crossfire? If so, do you think this is something I, a non mechanical type, can do?

The guy at Auto Zone said since my automatic did not require a push button, that I could probably use the one design for a manual transmission. I am hoping someone here would know.
