F-that, I would be so pissed. Go back, make them fix it and tell them you want a free oil change

The whole piece? Like the whole center console!?

How much would that cost!? This dealer is RIDICULOUS and I do not have any confidence in them whatsoever.

You have to replace the whole switch not the console. It pops out . The switch runs about $189.00. I just had to replace mine.

that was dealer cost. More power to you if you can get it cheaper.

nox1s, a short narrative and how it was resolved. I went to a MB dealership for schedule A service. They were a CLASS ACT from the greeter to the service writer. They performed the service, inspected my brakes, etc etc. Informed me I had a small oil leak around the oil sensor and that my car was in warranty and take to a Chrysler dealer to get it fixed. I did, they inspected the car and told me the sensor needed to be replaced. I took the car back at the appointed time and went to get something to eat. When I returned I heard this gawd awful banging and went to look. Their only certified Crossfire/Prowler/Viper mechanic was hammering on the oil pan with a heavy machinists brass hammer. Said the pan was stuck and he was breaking it loose. I couldn't watch and told them to take me home and call me when it was done. After a few hours at home they called and told me I could pick up the car. I went back, picked it up, NO PAPERWORK, and drove home and put it in the garage.
Next morning I started the car and backed it out of the garage. I looked up and saw a pool of oil on the floor and a line of oil to the car. I shut down and went and got my camera and took some pics. Called the service dept and they told me to bring it in. ^&^##@*. I told them to send a flatbed wrecker and somebody to clean up the mess. They said they will send the wrecker, but I had to clean the mess myself. *&^%@#(. After 2 more calls I was talking to the OWNER. A porter was there in about 15minutes cleaning. The oil pan had been cracked and they had to replace it. About a week later the dealer's Customer Relations person called me to find out how I assessed their Service. %##()^!!!. They used 24 QUARTS of Mob 1, a new oil pan and lost a potential customer. I will never go back even for warranty work. I would recommend you find a MB Dealer even if you have to go to Grosse Pointe for your service needs, and check their prices first.
As for your mirror/switch, go to the service MANAGER. If he won't accomodate you, go to the OWNER. If he refuses, ask him to call Chrysler Customer Relations. If he won't, call them yourself. It's a toll free #. Dealers don't want their 5***** image tainted. Worked for me. 1-800-992-1997

Wow, thanks for the replies guys!! I bought a whole new center console on eBay which included the mirror switch.. I decided not to deal with any BS and just fork up the money.. I'm happy because the new console is in perfect shape, and mine was kinda scratched / peeling anyways..

Did you used to live in Michigan? You mentioned Grosse Pointe and I don't see how you could know that from Texas

Was stationed at Selfridge 1954-1963. Lived on Linne, Clinton Twsp. Did some minor draggin,' at New Baltimore when Connie K had a *****'s, I ran C Gas with a '61 Valiant, 224cuin hyperpack slant 6. Didn't drive Gratiot though, Roseville Cops always had a spare ticket. Used Groesbeck to 8 mile, mo betta.

Bought 56 Chev at Ernie Grissom's

Good luck, don't let those dealers beat on you
