I ended up ordering a trunk switch from Mercedes (around $40 bucks shipped) using the part number provided. When it arrived it wasn't a rocker switch. Did I miss something or is this one way switch supposed to be the one? HELP!!!!!

Dash coming apart next weekend. The question is: will the single sided trunk button work in the spoiler position? If you can; please explain the functionality of that switch . ro in better terms; how will I use it to raise and lower the spoiler? Thanks for the help.

The switch itself will not work in that position. For mine I swapped the caps from the Mercedes switches and put them on the xfire buttons to retain the green lighting. If you want amber you will have to find a Mercedes double sided switch to cannibalize for the innards. I do not know if there are any Mercedes ones that are double sided and have the middle red light though. Other than that you could take the crossfire switch apart and replace the green lights with amber as outlined in one of the color change threads, that's getting a bit more involved than just taking the plastic covers off though.

For all the other switches; I was able to just swap the caps. Did you actually fit the mercedes trunk cap over the crossfire spoiler cap? This is where the confusion lies. I was going to resell the switch on ebay figuring that I had gotten the wrong thing. Thanks for helping to sort this out.

Not sure what the issue is. Are you not able to remove the spoiler or trunk cap for some reason? It was the same for all the buttons when I did it, pop crossfire cap off, pop Mercedes cap on.

1. Bought trunk awitch based on part number provided in earlier post
2. trunk switch is not a rocker switch ( like the window switches as an example)
3. What switch cap was used to replace the spoiler switch cap? It can't be the mercedes single pole switch because it doesn't match up.

all my other switches are done. No confusion in swapping caps. Just trying to resolve the spoiler switch. Maybe your spoiler cap is from a different model; therefore having a different part number other than the one you first provided.

Still not sure what the actual issue is, do you have a pucture of the trunk switch you got? It should be assembled just like the rest of them. We may just be having a symantics issue or something as well.

If you are looking at the last picture I posted in the part list those are all of the MB parts I bought off eBay with the crossfire caps on them. I did not use the switches, just the plastic covers with the pictures/wording on them. (aka take a screwdriver or other thin tool and pry the cap off the switch, you can see how they snap onto the switch by looking at the side) It didn't matter that the MB trunk switch was single sided because it is still sitting in a box in my closet. The crossfire switch for the spoiler is double sided and that's still what's in my car, it just has the black plastic cover of the MB trunk switch on it. To me it sounds like you are trying to put the entire trunk switch into the spoiler switch position. This is why I was saying if you want amber lighting you would have to find a double sided mb switch to put into that position and use the trunk cap on it. If you put the single sided trunk switch in the spoiler position I assume (if it even works) that you would only be able to put the spoiler up and never get it back down.

[quote=jediracer]Good job on the mods. Winter is getting close and replacing the switches is a project. Please post the part numbers you used for your switches. I own a convertible and need an idea as to what i could use for that switch. My thoughs.......................use a window switch and paint the window out; just leaving the two arrows. My nexy question is; other than the climate control; did you just take the switch covers off? Any and all help is truly appreciated! Thanls in advance for your reply!

My trunk switch is different than the one you are showing in this photo. My guess is that your switch has a different part number than the one originally given. I have seen other trunk switches that look like rocker switches on ebay but I was just following the voices of experience. Like Rudy said.................finding the right switch can be a pain sometimes! I do appreciate you helping through this!

Just pulled everything out and double checked the numbers, ( can post up pics if you need) the ones I posted are correct. Maybe it is a different revision or something? I did get mine from eBay so no telling where it really came from.
The only other numbers / logos are

Swf 501.295 136 6084 0608
There is a K01 after the MB part number 210 820 69 10
