I discovered the UltraGuage back in January when I started this other thread: OBDII Code Readers

I bought one and being that it was winter in Chicago and not using my car that much I put the UltraGuage away in the garage.
Well I just saw this thread pop up awhile ago and thought HEY I got one of these somewhere
I had totally forgotten about it.

Well I located it and then read through both threads to refresh my memory.
Then I read through the 56 page user manual pdf file.
I hooked it up the other day and started to explore all the features that this little thing has.

I'm still deciding what to set/choose to display on the various screens but this is a really neat little device to say the least.

To others here who are using one of these.....what displays did you choose to monitor ??

I'm gonna buy one and I'll post what I monitor, Gary.

It'll be quite different from his - and probably will vary all the time.

It would be fun to see what the PTCM is seeing. I guess if you watch a lot of stuff, you'll get an idea of what is normal and when a code is set, you'll be ahead of the game as far as knowing where to look.

Valk, I've ended up using the top 2 factory defaults!

Intake temp, engine temp, MPG, MPH, tach and a couple of other things cover day-to-day for me. I suppose if I'm tracking it, I might play with some different stuff, but...

Got mine in today.. watching intake temp, engine (coolant) temp, timing advance, throttle position, engine load, and sometihng like MAP pressure and MAT flow or somethin like that... got some reading to do to know what is all is and what else it can do.

Page two has the four O2 sensors, I erased all the factory defaults so there are only two pages to scroll thru.

In about a week, I'll probably know what will become permanent, I know I'll always watch engine temp and intake temp.

I had NO IDEA how much the timing changes not only with speed but throttle position ! It was very interesting to watch the timing advance change as I played with the throttle. This was a well spent $70-some.

Hey, why are my intake temperatures running around 125F going down the road when the outside air temp indicator is saying about 89F?

My car is N/A - what is raising the intake temps like that?

Mine says the same thing most of the time with these outside temps

Same here with the warmer temps. 125 is not too bad to be honest. You should see how yours reads after dragging for a 1/4 mile.

I dont understand the mechanism here... where the hell is the sensor? Must be at or past the Throttle Body, I assume.

I guess I have some reading to do, never knew it would be THAT much warmer than outside air...

The gauge sure is fun, I find it very entertaining to watch the interaction of all the sensors. I've already played around with it by driving with the gas cap loose and making the car throw a code.

I think the air intake temp sensor is part of the MAF right before the throttle body.

That is my limited understanding, the sensor in the MAF measures the temperature and the velocity.

I have one of these gauges, I tried it on the NA when I got it and now it sits gathering dust on the floor by the car seat. Never have hooked it up to the SRT.

I'm waiting for a report by James1549 on his one that works with the Garmin GPS units. HINT HINT

Memo to self: stop buying all these toys.

I have monitored he velocity as well, but not sure what the units are. Is it CF/M?

1) I am still confused, as I get MAP readings and I thought that a car had either a MAP or a MAF. Got more homework to do, MIGHT have time later this week...

2) I wanted that gauge, but my Garmin is one generation too old for it, and I don't wanna buy ANOTHER Garmin (another toy) just for those gauges.

I thought I read it was "Grams per minute" or something silly like that. I printed the entire 55 page manual last night but almost fell asleep trying to read it, so I went to bed. (It's not boring, but I only got 5 hours sleep the night before.

Is there any function on the UltraGuage that would give an indication that the supercharger has kicked in for a SRT6?
