UltraGauge
I was taking off from a light yesterday and the Ultra Gauge beeped at me. I looked down and it said that I exceeded the warning alert for RPM's. Apparently the factory setting is to throw an alarm above 4,000 RPM's. I launched at about 4,700. The car didn't seem to mind. So what do you think I should change the alert to? Or should I just leave it alone? It's an ATX with standard (stage 2) Eurocharged tune.
I don't normally start off from a light that aggressively, but it was a nice day and the Xfire hadn't been out of the garage in about 2 weeks. Needed to blow off the dust!

Any SRT owners use the manifold psi gauge yet? I'm doubting very much that it's accurate because I'm getting 6+ psi at idle and 28 psi steady at wot with a 30 psi spikes when first hitting the "omg" button. Obviously these are incorrect. But I'm curious as to what others are reading and with what pulleys.
The most suprising thing I learned running the Ultragauge, is how often the car will go into open loop. On most other cars in the past, I noticed that once the engine gets the O2 sensors hot enough, through exhaust or the built in heaters, it stays in closed loop.
I just traveled 5000 miles with the gauge in my Crossfire. When coasting, even down a slight grade on the hiway, it immediately goes to open loop. Just touch the gas for 5 secs, and it goes back to closed loop. I understand completely why it is doing this, I just never noticed this in any other cars, but then I never traveled with an OBD2 reader hooked up either.

PS, all alarms disabled here.

Geez, what a PITA for a $9 rebate. 1st off I thought it was just get online and fill out some stuff. I can't even get online. It keeps giving me a "Your Session has timed out, Login again" error when I try to sign on from the /start page. I can go to the main page and sign on just fine. Logoff there and go to the start page and still get that error. Can't call them, Can't really email them. When I tried to open a technical ticket, there is a picture with something on it that you have to type. My pic is not showing - just a x. If I right click and click on "show picture" still nothing. In researching more about this "rebate", it appears you have to go back and forth to the car to get codes and such from the UG. I quite trying to get on at the office since I saw that becaue I don't have the UG with me. Seems like a neat device but this so called rebate can really turn people off.
This would seem about as easy an install as any. Velcro the mount to dash. Stashed extra wire in fuse box. The car door does not seem to touch anything. I will make a bracket that mounts with the vent latter, or just drill small hole in dash. When not in use the thing just slips into the fuse box

They will modify the original unit to the dual US/metric units for $15 or so.

Mine was parked in the Kansas 120° temps and my velcro held up fine this summer. The velcro that came with the unit went directly in the trash since it didn't seem very good.
Here is a pic of it while climbing Pikes Peak:

PS I am thinking the newer unit is just a software/memory upgrade. It will show more gauges on one screen.

I sure enjoyed using the UltraGauge on the Dragon trip. It was very interested to see the manifold PSI and the maximum pressures at varying altitudes. Here at home (6000') it max out at 20.5 or so and at 500' it would max around 26.

I had noticed, like James, that my car goes into open loop a bit more often than one would think...wonder if that has anything to do with gas mileage...is it consistent?
