Suede headliner is done!
Finally got around to replacing my unsightly sagging headliner. I had it pinned up using saggy stoppers and I just couldn't take looking at it anymore....lol.
A local shop that I frequent recently did the headliner in one of their shop cars in black onyx suede so when I told them that I was looking to have mine done they offered to do it for free! Reason being, they already had the extra material laying around and I've referred a lot of people to them over the past few months. Needless to say, it's the best "free" mod I've ever had done for me and I'm extremely satisfied with how it turned out. The suede compliments the stock SRT-6 seats very well in my opinion. Anywho here are a few pictures. All feedback is welcomed.

I wanted to do this. I figured the gray plastic covers for the inside of the A pillars would have driven me crazy against the black though. How did that turn out for you?
I honestly don't mind the A-pillars/C-Pillars being gray. You could easily have an upholstrey shop wrap them for you in addition to the headliner, but since this shop was doing the headliner for me for free I didn't want to push my luck or take advantage of their generosity. All in all i'm very satisfied with the outcome.
Looks good. I did mine in a dark gray fake leather with random embossing.
I painted all the upper interior plastics to match the dark gray interior parts.
It looks good.
If I had to do it again I would use a thinner material as I got a few wrinkles I could not get out.

These materials can be used for headliners. Most have a backing which can be stripped by turning the material with the backing side up, spraying with adhesive remover until it is saturated, wait a minute then just peel the backing off. You have to wash the material then and let it dry before using. If you don't the adhesive remover soaks into the material and makes a poor bond. With the backing off, most materials of this type are stretchy enough to conform very well.
Hey, I have a cedar interior, where did you get those? Thanks
That looks great !!
What's the base of the headlining made out of - some kind of fibreboard ? Plus how is it secured to the roof ?
I'd like to do something like this in mine. Would get the pillars at each corner done the same though, to complete the look.

No, the last Post was only several months ago.
Plus my questions / comments are still relevant - to the overall removal of the headliner process / re-covering process. Unless you'd prefer I create a duplication (!!), by creating a brand new thread asking the same questions (instead of this continuation on the same subject)?
