I liked the look as well and sent of to Oz for one, The envelope came last week, just the envelope, it was torn so no pedal.
Another one is on the way.

 

I inquired this morning as to how wide the dead pedal was & vendor responded right away that is was 62 mm wide. Said that in RHD XFires in the "land down under", he removes the Velcro & adds double-sided tape for it to install properly. Let me know which version you get.

For those of us that have a rudimentary dead pedal installed on our later model Crossfires, I can see having to use double-sided tape to install properly. But for those w/o a dead pedal from Chrysler, the Velcro would be the preferred method to attach to carpet.

 

Included are pictures of the Chrysler dead pedal in my 2007 Coupe. Actually, not too bad looking.

I got one of these and it does not stick to the carpet at all, it sticks to coarser carpet material but not where it should, any hints?

The first one was lost in the mail with just an empty envelope arriving. I should have taken that as an omen.

No big deal really, I just wanted it for looks, but others should be warned if you have to screw it into place or something.


It looks fine but its real tricky when it no sticky.

I used the heavy duty (Industrial) Velcro (white in color), bought at the local Ace Hardware store. It has held for the past 8 years and has been removed several times for cleaning purposes.

Although I have not done it myself (with my dead pedal cover) I would suggest using velcro also. I plan to shave the carpet down (in a rectangular shape to match the velcro on the back of the pedal), then used carpet/headliner adhesive to attach a velco base for the pedal. I also thought about using a carpet/heavy duty sewing needle to tack some velcro on the carpet. You have options without using screws, which might ruin the look of the pedal.

I found a Dead Pedal that matched the M-B pattern. Needed one wide enough to cover the mounting holes for the plastic version Chrysler installed in my 2007 XFire, along with the carpet cutout where the plastic dead pedal rested its bottom (new Dead Pedal covers at least most of it). And the Dead Pedal doesn't hang over the right edge. Dead Pedal came with a very tacky, double-sided tape on the back. But rather than use this to secure the Dead Pedal, I used a couple of industrial strength Velcro strips I bought from Amazon. I left the protective cover to the double-sided tape in place & just mounted the Velcro strips to it. Attached pictures show the final result. Looks fairly good; hope it holds up!

 

I wrote the seller and he sells the exact same part with an adhesive back for the Crossfire. He says that the velcro version will not stick on the Chrysler carpet. Seems like it works well for you.

He recommends this one.

Hook and loop tape doesn't work on the carpet in the crossfire (or any chrysler/jeep/fca vehicle as they all use 'Cut Pile" carpets in my experience), hence the adhesive. "


EDIT: I think the posters are talking to the same company. So what attachment works better on carpet?

 

Even with the double-side adhesive tape, this dead pedal really doesn't fit my 2007 XFire. First - The dead pedal has a right angle bend on the pedal-side of the footwell. As a result, it won't fit flush against the carpeting. Second - My 2007 had the large plastic dead pedal provided by Chrysler. When this is removed, there are three large holes in the carpet that need to be covered (my opinion) to make the install look good. This dead pedal isn't wide enough to cover the holes completely.

The dead pedal I bought later was wide enough & came with double-sided tape for install. And if you look close, you'll see a small portion of a carpet opening at the bottom that still didn't get covered. But with floor mats placed in the footwell, it doesn't show.

This dead pedal is a dead loss, I took a chance that it might be OK but no it will not fit well at all. I have OEM carpets and I would have to cut of the part of the carpet that goes up the dead pedal area. The right angle and shape makes it a dead loss,it would look like crap. Mine had Velcro and that was useless and I told the maker that it was cr@p.
