Nice Jonny, you managed to get out before the snowstorm hit!

Looks like we here in Minnesota are covering up our cars for a little while longer yet...

Chicago is too far for me, but count me in for anything within an hour or two of the twin cities!

I've only lived here for four years, so I'm not particularly knowledgeable about the car scene. What about "car themed" cafes like Psycho Suzi's Motor Lounge or Joe's Garage? Any place where one can sit and admire their cars. BlazeRed215 mentioned a Hwy 61 Lake City Winona Cruise. Morlie is in Coon Rapids, Sheldon/Doyen did the Freight House in Stillwater as well as Wings n' Wheels. Plenty of other folks in the 'burbs.

I'd also volunteer a cruise along the Minnesota River through the twin cities, starting in St. Paul, past the Ford factory, and up into Minneapolis. Lots of corners, smooth curves, and some straightaways. Not much traffic and it would be a hoot to have a train of XF's revving it up!

Full of ideas...not enough sunshine...

Too many Porsche's Lambos and Bentleys. We need some Crossfires there...

Hello all!
Sounds like we have some GREAT ideas for getting (as my guy friends call it) "the rod" out on the roads this spring. I bought mine late October of last year so I have never been able to drive it without a coat on...and I am betting it's much more fun being able feel your nose and fingers after a drive...
I am in for whatever we can get going this spring, and I agree with Sonoronos that we should have a good showing for the cars and coffee deal in Tonka. I am putting the July 5th meet on the calender, as it's a day before my birthday, and I can't think of a better way to start it off! Hope some of you can join me...
Also, I'll be heading down past Winona on June 1st, if anyone's interested I can plan something, just let me know...

Also we need to set a cruise up just for us crossfire guys (and gals) there is nothing better than seeing a string of crossfires cruising down the road. Also I was going to see how many of the Minnesota members have an SRT6 I am looking for a moding buddy.

My Aero Blue SRT-6 roadster is still under the cover in the garage so it wasn't me. I did see a gray Limited coupe in downtown Minneapolis yesterday morning around 8:15. It was on 12th Ave and turned left on to Harmon Pl.

Hooray for spring!

Glad there is a decent XF following up here in MN. I had a Caliber and was debating on buying an SRT-4 or a XF. Decided that two seats are better than four and bought an '07 base brand new. Was looking at the SRT-6 and the Limited but I'm a bigger guy and the seats on the base just fit me better. Besides, cloth seats have come a long ways since I've been driving cars and they really are quite nice. I also like the fact that everything is already black. Nothing against the satin silver stuff on the roadsters but IMHO it looks out of place on the coupes and I'd be tearing all that stuff off and painting it if I bought the other ones. Tons of fun to drive. Look forward to meeting some other owners and hearing about some tips and tricks for my new toy.

Peace, I'm out!

I'm back from a week-long conference in Washington DC. The highlight of the trip, carwise, was seeing two XF's, one in Reston VA and the other parked at the airport.

Sunday was awesome driving weather, hope you guys/gals enjoyed it. I know I did Did anyone go to the Cars and Coffee on Saturday?

Anyone here have any ideas for a Crossfire get-together?

We also have to give Jonnyangel something to look forward to once he gets back from River Falls

I didn't get a chance to go to the May Cars and Coffee because I was in DC at the time, sorry.

No can do. My car is a mess right now after hitting that deer and I don't want everyones first time meeting me see my car all beat up! We should plan something for a weekend in June. That gives people some time to line things up and hopefully I'll have my car done by then as well.

Only weekend that would work for me would be the May 31/Jun 1st and other than that weekends in June are a "no go" for me. Sidecar rally in Cameron Wisconsin the second weekend, the third is the National Sidecar Rally in Duluth, then the 4th weekend is the Midwest Renewable Energy Fair in central Wisconsin, and finally the last weekend is the Jim Hogan Fun Run Motorcycle Rally Cloquet-Ely. My summers get pretty well booked as I put on motorcycle rallies and if I'm not putting them on I'm attending them to promote ours.

Weekdays, on the other hand, I'm almost always available.

One thing I learned in putting on rallies for the last 30 years is that you can never find a time that works perfectly for everyone, but if you throw enough events out there sooner or later everyone will pass through.

I'm going to plan on being in the Freighthouse parking lot next Wednesday about 6:30 and if anyone shows we can admire each other's cars and shoot some bulls.

Sheldon

Hey Sheldon,

Didn't know you were such a motorcycle guy as well. I've got 3 as well & just got them out of Winterization. I don't think I can make tomorrow, but one of these weekdays I should.

John

P.S. I'll be marking my calender down for the Motorbooks car show weekend again- that was a blast!

Any of you folks ever been a member of the Minnesota Sport Compacts forum, MNSCC.net ? I just moved down to Orlando in December of '06 from Lakeville, MN and been an avid car junkie up there for 14 years. I was one of the MODS there before I left.
