Minnesota X-fires
Anyone else thinking of going to the Freight House tonight???? If it is only John and I then maybe we will just forget it for tonight what with the threatening rain and such.
BUT:::: Do mark your calendars for September 6th for the 28th Annual Wings & Wheels in Osceola WI (Only 50 miles from St. Paul via my house in Houlton) A very pleasant ride, we drive right in and show our cars for FREE, and get to see about 1,000 exotica, antique, muscle and other types of vehicles. Last year we only had John's SRT6 and my Roadster but we hope we will have more this year.

Our house is only a few blocks from the Stillwater bridge over the St. Croix River. Directions to our house are at:

If you've never been there it is absolutely incredible.
It is Sept 6, 8:00-4:30. Either ride up with us or meet up there later. Just drive right in and we should be up near the top of the hill near the building.
Will that work? Maybe meet here at 7:45 a.m. and get there early. You only have to stick around as long as you want unless you seriously want to try for a trophy which are given out at about 4:00 or so. We will park together to display our cars as a group. There is also a Fly-In at the nearby airport where they have some special aircraft on display. Plus you can buy Motorbooks International publications at deep discounts. Sometimes as much as 80% off. Just Google "wings & wheels osceola photos" if you'd like to get an idea of what is to be seen at the event. Some of the cars there are a once in a lifetime experience. See everything from Model T's to Lamborghini, Road Runners to Minis, and every extreme of the car and motorcycle collecting hobbies. Possible route from St. Paul:

This truly is an even that is not to be missed. Hope to see some of you there.

Hey Sheldon,
My wife and I will try to be at your house about 8:00 A.M. Looking forward to it if it doesn't rain!
Thanks,
John
P.S. For anyone else, this is seriously a damn good car show IMO.

Sheldon,
Did you ever get the mtgs going at the restaurant in Stillwater?
I'm planning on buying a X-Fire early 2009, and would love to meet some owners.

Just purchased a 2007 Crossfire Limited with 7200 miles. Bought it for 15,500 which I thought was a pretty good deal. Question I have is that I can hear a slight hum coming from the back. Mechanic thought it could be the fuel pump. Anyone else experienced this?

Maybe now that summer activities are over we can try again. I've thought about doing it on a Friday but the trouble there is that the parking lots in Stillwater fill up because there are several popular bars. So maybe a Wednesday or thursday? Anyone have thoughts on this? Want to try again?

Currently an Accura MDX -- one sweet car
And, if I admit to driving our 2nd car, a PT Cruiser (my wife's, my wife's, my wife's), you'll still invite me to mtgs, won't you?

I'm for getting together again- maybe someplace in St. Paul would be a better meeting place. What's that park down by the river across the Wabasha Ave. bridge? Weekends or weekdays are good for the next 5 to 6 weeks, after that I'm looking at storage for the car soon.

P.S. Sorry for the dirty front rims on my SRT6 in that pic.

SRT-6's only came with the automatic- so that's what I've got, but I know Sheldon's got the manual. The automatic is pretty good, it's just that it can be kinda unpredictable at times when you really get on it.
