Hello, Great Forum
Hello,
My name is Clyde Coulter, and I am new to the forum (other than lurking).
First, the Crossfire that I have access to is not mine, but my 16 year old sons. We just purchased it for him 3 days ago.
2004 Crossfire Limited, black.
What led me to this forum was the "Mystery No Start" problem the day after we purchased the car. I did the solder job on the RCM as instructed, but won't know if it fixed it unless it never-ever-happens again
Also, the key fob would not lock the doors (all closed) from outside. But, I found which fuse to check (#9) on this forum and it had been removed. Put the fuse, 10 amp, in #9 fuse location and it works!
So, as a new member that has found this site very useful already, THANK YOU ALL!

Welcome Clyde, Very cool that you got this for your son.
You should both travel together to a Crossfire meet sometime with us.
Visit here often and you can learn so much more about the Crossfire.
You will find most here to be like a close knit internet family and many of us have even met one another and national Crossfire meets around the country.
Maybe you will both be at one of them sometime.
Thanks for posting your intro and the kind comments about the forum.
Gary

Welcome to the forum and it would be great if your son becomes a regular, it's never too early to begin learning about the car. What a great Dad to buy your son such a nice car. My Dad helped me to get a '67 Dodge 440 R/T but not monetarily.
Actually, his grandparents (my wife's mom and dad) paid for the car (gave an amount for him to spend on his first car), my wife "allowed" him to get the crossfire with a little help from dad
We were able to get a 3yr 36,000 premium warranty with seal and normal wear and tear also for it (even though it has 121k miles on it).
I would like to go to a meet with my son and the xf some time.
edit: I took it out for a bit of a spin, while Josh was at school, after putting new Conti's on the rear today and really like the feel of the car. It's a spunky little road hugger
Maybe there's an SRT6 in my future (you know, a 2nd mid life crises thing).

Welcome! What a lucky 16 y.o. to have such a car. He'll definitely be cool at school.
As you have discovered, this forum is a great resource an many levels.
FYI, except for color, all the 2004's were the same...the introduction year. Chrysler did not create "limited" and "base" until 2005. The 2004's had all the options of the 2005 limiteds with the additional benefit of autodiming review mirrors which they discontinued.

Welcome Clyde to the Perma Grin club. Even though it is your sons car (lucky young man) I am sure you will take a few rides around town...need Milk, bread or any other excuse...I have owned mine for a little over a year and a half and find the forum and the members to be a real close group. Enjoy!!! And remind him to take the Grandparents for a drive
