just bought a new crossfire!
Hey all, my name is Joe and I just bought my first crossfire. I've lived this car since I first saw it years ago and now I finally own a 2005 limited coupe with only 36,000 miles on it. I'm so happy and I'm loving the car. Are there any big things I should know about owning one?

Re: just bought a new crossfire!
mine is 30k and 10 years and here is my short list. Some done, some not. All covered in the how-to's.)
replace the stabilizer
re-solder the RCM
order a bosch CPS
Check for leaks around the electrical plug at the auto transmission
maybe a cabin air filter
consider a capacitor on the door speakers
Check the woofers for broken foam
check the drivers seat for heat
check the maintenance schedule- coolant, serpentine belt air cleaners (2), brake fluid flush, etc
Check back next week and get the list for the following weekend.
And welcome to the forum.
I should mention that I am only 50 miles from Virginia, USA.

Re: just bought a new crossfire!
No, it doesn't, I've had my SRT6 for three years and the only issue that I have had is the CPS, probably the most common problem encountered. 15 minutes to change and all was well. Any other work was optional, new wheels, a few engine mods and new headliner but not because it needed it, just because I like to tinker around with cars.
Re: just bought a new crossfire!
That's like the shortest list of issues for a car that I've seen! Note there is no "replace headgasket" or anything major. Ignore the speaker stuff for now. The RCM solder joints and CPS are the two to do before you have an issue. Both can be done in an hour for $50.

Re: just bought a new crossfire!
ANy car, no matter the mileage, that is ten years old should have:
1) The coolant flushed.
2) Transmission fluid and filter replaced (autos only)
I'd order a spare BOSCH crank sensor and put it in the trunk as well, they go between 40,000 and 100,000 miles and if you have the right spare part - it is no big deal to replace.
