New Crossfire '07 Limited Owner
Hello, all!
New Member intro stuff here for a new owner of a 2007 Chrysler Crossfire Limited Coupe - Oyster Gold with Cedar Trim Leather Seats.
Picked 'er up on Presidents' Day in 2018, and I'm going through the "New/Used Car Owner" issues with it now. Overall, she's in pretty good condition. No detected concerns on the motor at all. Had to get a head lamp replaced (about 70 bucks), and this one was one of the ones that needed the recall work on the airbag (no worries there; got it done on the same day). Drives beautifully. 6 speed manual. I'll be posting pictures of her once it stops raining around here. lol I saw something or other about a meet up group thing that happens in NC (which is where I'm located) so that's pretty awesome. We're possibly getting another one of these (the automatic convertible issue of the same year) because we're enjoying it so much so far! Great lil car!
If you are on this forum as a parts guy or tips and tricks guru, let me know! Had some questions about functions on the car like the oil change notification on the odometer. Can't seem to figure out how to get that to work and would love the help.
Thanks,
JCK

Re: New Crossfire '07 Limited Owner
I'm going thru the endless links on fixing/replacing things now. lol Thanks, Steve!
180, I see the function for resetting the oil light, but I'm looking for how you access the feature on the odometer itself that tells you how many quarts low you are. You familiar with what I'm talking about? The manual says to just press the odometer stick to the left of the odometer when sitting on a flat surface, wait 7 seconds, and it should tell you this info where your mileage is. All I'm getting is the double wrenches on it though. Could it be that I need to have them reset that function when I take her in for her first general tune up?
Any ideas appreciated!

It does not mention a light at all, you are reading that into the instructions.

I've attached the specific page from the 2007 Owners Manual pertaining to the Oil Level Indicator Light. Your description above only has part of the steps required to get the oil level to show. You have to press the **** to the left of the ODO 2x shortly (within 1 second & not too quick) after the 7 seconds when the FSS symbol appears. The double wrenches also indicates that Maintenance Schedule "B" is either upcoming or late. You can reset the FSS yourself w/o assistance from a service tech. I just performed on oil change within the past couple of days & reset the FSS on my car. We all do this when performing oil changes ourselves.
I've never tried to get the Oil Level Indicator to appear. Always just pulled the dipstick to check oil level. However, I did get the "HI" Oil Level Warning to appear after my initial oil change followed by our 1st trip to Fontana Dam, NC and the XFire ToD Weekend GTG. Driving the mountain roadways caused that "HI" Oil Level Waning to come on. Drained about 1/2 quart out when we got back home and no more warnings.

Re: New Crossfire '07 Limited Owner
What the list tells you is how to set the FSS, it is not an oil light reset at all, it refers to the LCD panel that has the wrench symbols on it that you see. Reset it and it should show the oil level.
It does not mention a light at all, you are reading that into the instructions.

Re: New Crossfire '07 Limited Owner
Autumn, she was at 149K when I got her. She just crossed the infamous 150 mark yesterday on a trip up to VA.
Miami, will do! I think this Spring is booked, but we're looking at being there in Oct possibly! Looks like a nice place! I don't know that I want to sling my car off a mountain on the ol' Dragon or not but the resort looks really cool!
