New Member IntroductionsWelcome new members !!
This is the place to post a new thread and introduce yourself and tell us a little about yourself and what model Crossfire you just bought or are looking to buy.
Threads created for anything other than introductions are subject to be moved to the appropriate section in the forum for the topic being posted.
Well I'm not really a new member,I signed up a year and a half ago (mainly so I could see all the pictures)and i know i probably was reading threads on here well before that. But this is my first post. Just purchased an SRT6 sight unseen from a dealer in Virginia and spent this past Sunday and Monday (had a blast) driving it back to central Wisconsin.I know someone has a list on here of deceased crossfires and I am happy to announce that vin#1c3an75n65x048897 is back from the dead.It is a 2005 Aero Blue SRT6 Roadster and I am ecstatic to own this car.It does need some work but it seems every car I have owned needs something done and I enjoy working on cars.I will try to post some pics.Pay no attention to the god awful grill, thats the first thing that has to go..... Thank you to all who post the great info on here,I have learned so much in the last couple days. Dave
Thanks Ala.Those headlights are even worse in person (very yellow) and I was impressed how well they worked when I drove it home.It is near the tip on my 'to do list' once the weather warms a bit here in Wisconsin.Yes it is does have a rebuilt title.
Nice ! There's threads here on refurbing those foggy headlights.
Rebuilt title on it ?

Welcome to the forum, glad you had fun getting it home like I did bringing imine up from Florida. I agree with you on that grille, looks like a model of a Mexican border wall. Think hard about what to replace it with, only the mesh grille from the UK looks good in my humble opinion. I prefer the original grilles, they just look right to me. If you have not got a code reader you should get one now. When it warms up you can fix the headlights and get them as good as new.

Thanks onehundred,I did have a blast driving it back,it's quit a thrill when you read about the car you want for a long time then finally get to drive/own one.I'm with you and only like the oem grille and am watching for one to come up on ebay at a reasonable price.I think I am going to need a parts car (hello copart).I do have a couple scan tools and some auto repair experience with domestic and german (VW) so I think I may have a good start on having the proper tools.Just can't wait for some warmer weather to get things going on it.I may have to bring the grille indoors(while wifes gone) and spray it black,it is just horrid the way it sits right now. Dave
Thank you,I am thrilled to finally own one.It probably would not be so bad but the paint is peeling on it and makes the hood look 'gappy' where it meets the grille. The one on your car looks much nicer than this thing. Dave
Really sorry you live in Wisconsin. At least you have an SRT6 now - but it doesn't change the fact that you live way too far north.
We should turn everything north of the 40th parallel over to Canada.

You could build a wall, of course you will have to pay for it.😀
Thanks Pizzaguy.Yes we are looking to move somewhere warmer(northern Florida) within the next couple years. We did have a warm spell and some rain which washed the ice and salt off the roads,so we have been able to drive it around a bit,top down off course, but I'm not complaining.Otherwise it would be parked in the garage until spring. It is a nice feeling just to look st it sitting in the garage. My wife asked me the other morning if I had been out "petting her" yet ......
FLorida? YUK. I liked north Georgia way better.
I'm in Texas now, but want to go back to GA.
WEST Florida is OK; more like LA (Lower Alabama).
The rest of Florida...?
We drove over to Orlando in September to pick up Silver Bullet II. I had not been over there since it was a Navy town.
We thought we had gone to a different country as the old Southern hospitality seems to have been long gone.
The traffic and crowding was extreme from what I remembered.
We've had a LOT of growth here since Hurricane Ivan struck in 2004, followed 10 months later by Dennis, but nowhere near what we saw in Orlando.
The "Forgotten Coast" is no longer forgotten
Well the population of metro Orlando has tripled since I moved here. Fortunately am on the far southwest end (behind universal) and everything I usually need is west of I4. To find a nice place where you do not need to speak Spanish, Clermont is thirty miles west on 50 and is "old Florida" with amenities & is easy to get anywhere. I'd think about moving but would be very expensive to duplicate my house (4,000 sq. ft - 2,000 house & 2,000 garage. Have parked a class A inside.
