Default What do you call it?

On my roadster, the pneumatic arm that holds my hood up has quit working. My local dealership (who are a bunch of genuine clowns) want $265 just for the part. I want to search on line to see if I can get it cheaper but in this site's "vendor" section I don't know what to call the part. Anyone know what the proper name for it is?

Google: "chrysler crossfire hood strut". $70 at Autozone, I've seen them advertised for as little as $14 but I don't think the cheap ones are the right part.

Then: Read my sigline. You have been here since 2008, you have NO $%()*#$)#*$#)B excuse.

The replacement part uses the old plastic strut, you just have to swap out the short cylinder that fits in the strut. You use the original strut with the button in it.

Thanks. I share your disdain for dealerships, especially the ***-hats I have locally. I just wanted to see what they had to say, and it was as stupid as I figured it would be.

Got mine at Advance Auto. Perfect fit and decent price with discount coupon. They didn't stock it but it came in a few days.

I use this company for ALL my lift strut replacements. Good people / good products / good service. Look here:
