The "Near me" part is what will ruin this for you. My first Roadster was 90 miles (140km) from me. But it really was not the 'right car'.
My Graphite was THE car for me, it was 2200 miles away, my SE was even more THE car for me, it was 500 miles away.

I bought a one-way plane ticket both times, if THE car is out there, do yourself a good turn and GO GET IT.

Hi Luis, I too enjoyed meeting you and your father at Woodward. The car you are looking for is out there somewhere. Have patience and wait for the right one to come along. I have an aero blue roadster and love it. Hope to see both you and your father next year and we won’t get lost going back to the hotel! 😀

 

Cast the net farther in your search, I went from the Toronto area to Ft Lauderdale for my AB coupe. There are a lot of nice cars in Florida, low miles and looked after. I flew down with my son and drove it back in one long drive. If you follow the rules the customs clearance is a doddle, I borrowed the guys plates and mailed them back to him. We carried out the transaction at his bank with a bank draft. Just make sure the ownership is OK. You pay the federal tax at
the border and the Ontario tax when you register it. The cheap way to get the daytime lights is by using the CTC gadget, I got a Canadian market light
switch. That and a new set of tires got me through the safety test. In 2011 the car had 19,500 miles on it, it has now 39,000 miles on it.
Canadian and northern US cars may have seen salt and they tend to cost more in Canada.

How is this following the rules? If (heaven forbid) you had been involved in an accident with the previous owners plates on the car, the previous owner would have had a serious liability issue to deal with. Not good advice to follow IMO concerning the plates however, I agree there are some nice, well cared for Roadsters here in Florida.

 

Not Aero Blue, but it's a Roadster and an SRT-6 and north of the border.

Thanks for all the support for both me and Dad in the forum... I am looking to maintain this Dragon well... I will be asking the winterizing advice as soon as I the cold arrives... the seller even gave me the Original Crossfire Cover for the car!!!
